- AFAlexandriaFamily1Washington, D.C. Area •2 reviews4.0Dined 4 days agoThe service was adequate. We were on time for our 7pm reservation because we were staying at the hotel. This was not our first or even fourth visit, but it was nearly an hour before we received our entrees, and we had not ordered an appetizer. The bread we were served was tasty but rather too chewy. It would also have been more enjoyable had it been warmed. I ordered a nonalcoholic drink, but was disappointed that despite such a large beverage menu, there were only two nonalcoholic drinks on offer. I asked our server if there were any other nonalcoholic beverages to choose from and she replied “no”. That was disappointing. An establishment such as this one should have at least five or six nonalcoholic beverages to choose from. The chicken I ordered was dry. The menu had mentioned vegetables, which were present on the plate. However, the menu also mentioned “vichyssoise”. As far as I know, vichyssoise is a potato soup. But there were only two tiny pieces of potato on my plate, so why are they calling it vichyssoise? There was no explanation and I forgot to ask our server. My husband liked his meal, which was the steak and potatoes, and the lemon mascarpone cheesecake that we shared for dessert was tasty. All in all it was a nice dinner, but it wasn’t a standout. We will certainly return to this hotel in the future, but perhaps for dinner instead we will go to TJ’s, their more casual (and less expensive) dining option.More infoLemaire at The Jefferson HotelPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Richmond•4.7

- DDarylVIPVirginia •157 reviews5.0Dined on Jun 13, 2025We really appreciate the easygoing neighborhood vibe we find at this place. Great hospitality without overdoing it, as some restaurants do. We were able to carry on conversation without having to yell at each other, and even engaged in a little conversation with the couple seated next to us. My wife had the meatloaf and I had the blackened salmon; both delicious! I appreciate the plating here; the entree and sides are all on one plate, as if you're having dinner at a friend's house. We'll continue to visit often!More infoThe Savory GrainPrice: Expensive• American• Richmond•4.7
