Best Restaurants with Great Beer in University City

I read about Goodyear House in Our State magazine magazine so we tried it before a comedy show. We ate early (5:30) on a Wednesday night and we ate inside because it is mid-June in Charlotte! I had hoped to have a nice, intimate dinner with my husband but it was too loud! There was only one other group inside at that time but there were over a dozen of them having drinks and appetizers. The tables are not crammed inside but there is no sound dampening in that space. I recommend separating large groups from smaller ones. Besides that, our server Grace was friendly and attentive. We had the smoked cashew Mac,shrimp and grits, and brick chicken. Everything was delicious and served promptly.

Jojo took excellent care of us. We had a beautiful evening with absolutely perfect service. Will absolutely be back to enjoy tasty food and great service again soon!

Walked right in on time for our reservation. Sat us immediately. Waitress came to our table within a minute to take drink orders etc. Meal served quickly and correctly. Food was delicious.

Comfortable and warm pub atmosphere. Fish & chips are the best in CLT and their Guinness pour is perfect.
