We had an opportunity to sample both breakfast and dinner at Cedar and Elm during our recent stay at the Lodge. Breakfast was excellent. My kids enjoyed the beautiful yogurt parfait and French toast. The fresh juices were refreshing and coffee on point. Encouraged by breakfast and the advice of the friendly bartenders downstairs (very nice bar program btw,) we decided to return for supper. It happened to be Bastille Day, and the restaurant was serving a full secondary menu of French bistro classics paired with a nice selection of French wine. Live music by a piano-vocal duo was a fun touch. The dining room is beautiful, and with small kids in tow, I appreciated how unstuffy it was despite the elegant ambiance. Service was excellent. The classic preparations on the Bastille Day menu were family-friendly and satisfying. We all enjoyed the perfectly executed mussels, salad Lyonnaise with chicken thigh, and a tender steak bavette. My youngest also got chicken tenders and fries off the extremely reasonable children’s menu—basic, but the fingers and fries were delicious too! We adored the flatbread with “dirty dip,” the flavorful pork belly, and especially the sablefish from the regular menu. For desert, a classic profiterole and an honestly mind-blowing honey and porcini crème brûlée with pickled lingonberries (probably the best rendition I’ve ever had). We’re so happy we decided to dine here at the last minute. The food was tasty, thoughtful, and joyfully local (very local, in some cases—there’s a culinary garden right behind the hotel.) Next time we’re in the area we’d love to return for the tasting menu. Highly recommend.

Cute, quaint, and tucked back in a small shopping area in Issaquah, Paisley's Tea Room is a hidden gem. We stumbled upon it one rainy afternoon when we were looking for coffee and were delighted to with the variety of pastries and tea. We ordered tea and a quick bite to go, but quickly decided to make a reservation for Afternoon Tea with the girls. The atmosphere is enchanting and the food and tea are all delightful. Service is brought out all at once on a tiered tray, rather than multiple courses, so you can easily experience a wonderful afternoon repast in under 2 hours. They also offer the option to change your tea flavor, which I absolutely love! With the many teas offered in this tea room, this fun option is very enticing. The service is fantastic! Everyone is cheerful, efficient and kind. I highly recommend Paisley's Tea Room for your next Afternoon Tea a

Great service with professional staff and beautiful food. Adult price was reasonable, but $75/kid ?? Not so much. Also, the street level noise with the doors open made it tough for the hearing impaired.
