When we arrived one of our party was in a wheelchair the staff couldn’t have been more helpful putting ramps down and even changed our reserved table for a one that was easier to access would definately recommend thank you so much

We had a wonderful bday celebration here for my husband’s bday (though no special bday treats provided). The 6 course meal with wine pairing was exquisite, with each course delicately balanced on flavours, and adequate portion sizes were given so that by the end of the meal we both felt stuffed! The wine pairings were amazing and waitress service attentive, but not obtrusive. The restaurant is a small, intimate, 4-tabled affair and when we were eating there were just 4 guests so it felt special and almost like private dining. The music was retro and upbeat, but slightly too loud for me as I was sat directly under the speaker - I enjoyed the music so much that it slightly interfered with my attentiveness to tastes of food! We didn’t feel rushed and enjoyed being able to see the chefs at work from our seat. An expensive but well worth cost that my husband thoroughly enjoyed as his birthday treat. Always a pleasure to meet and eat at The Angel. Food is great and delivered with a smile. We shall continue to use it as a central venue to catch up with ‘old’ friends!!

Fantastic food, nice and friendly staff. Attentive, never had to wait for a drink. Roast portion sizes were great. The roast potatoes were fresh!! No reheated texture like in most places. and all roasts came with Yorkshire puddings and extras. Will definitely be returning!

This has always been our favourite pub - you will see from many previous reviews and we have spent birthdays, Christmas and other special occasions here. We booked for Father’s Day and I have to say I was really disappointed with the food. My first concern was the smell of frying as we entered through the door - and unfortunately this was then realised when the food was served. The frickles which are a family fave were joined with the chicken and they were so hot from the deep fat fryer that we couldn’t eat them for 10 minutes I also ordered the chicken Milanese which again was so deep fried that it was atomic hot and I didn’t start eating it for 10/15 mins. This was being served with dauphinoise - well no it was served with sliced potatoes (maybe 2 new size) My husbands roast was nice but where has the extra special Yorkshire pudding gone with the extra gravy. I feel that it may have changed hands and I would love to see the old standard of food back.
