We are a country Gastropub owned by farmers. Our farm supplies the beef, lamb and pork and we source other ingredients from local producers where we can. Our small seasonal menu changes regularly reflecting what is available in our area. We pride ourselves on being very much a country pub, offering freshly prepared seasonal food and a warm welcome. We also love offering locally produced drinks, such as gins, rums, ales and wines, giving you the complete taste of Sussex.

BAYTE, is a modern European neighbourhood restaurant with an emphasis on local sourcing and quality produce in the seaside town of St Leonards-on-Sea. The Royal is operated by James Hickson, who has a solid hospitality background having learned his trade at well-loved restaurants and gastropubs including St John, Great Queen Street, The Canton Arms and Moro. The Two Sawyers is a 16th Century Inn recently refurbished and under family ownership. We pride ourselves on serving excellent beer and food. We have a large beer garden to the rear of the pub with over 30 tables for our guests to use for both drinking and dining. A character bar with log fires serving guest ales, beers, and wines. Exceptional food and confident assured service. Portions very generous, I couldn’t finish my main course (chicken peas, aubergine & courgette) despite it being absolutely delicious. A really good lunch was had. Was my 5th lunch visit (down from London) and I will definitely be back for 6th, 7th….and beyond. Post lunch in St Leonards is great fun with vintage shops, beach and bar hopping. Many thanks 👍

An excellent local pub that serves good food and diverse range of interesting beers, wines and cocktails. Small plates available if you don't want a large meal, although these were generous enough. The prices are very reasonable for the quality. Staff are friendly. We went during Pirate Weekend so probably noisier than usual but it is a good, friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend and best to book a table.
