The American steakhouse is an iconic restaurant institution. We’d wanted to tell that story for years, but waited until we had the skill, talent and ability to execute it properly, and the right space to be our canvas, an important corner in Little Italy, a neighborhood where we have deep roots. We brought an almost academic appreciation for steakhouse history and tradition to Born & Raised, while trying to stay relevant and authentic to ourselves and our city. Our dry-aged beef pays tribute to earlier, earthier, pre-government grading practices and is the centerpiece of a meal best savored at a slow pace. A timeless celebration of everything that makes restaurants so special. - Consortium Holdings. A 4% surcharge is added to all guest checks.

Overall, great experience. Ambiance is really what sets this place apart. Decorated top notch, very moody art-deco feel. They also have a very cool open cooking area where you can watch the chefs cut meat and prepare everything. I noticed a table next to us got to go back and talk with the chefs, so I'd be curious if Born & Raised offers some sort of special experience that we weren't privy to. Food I ranked an overall 4/5. My boyfriend loved his dry aged ribeye (aged 60+ days). I ordered the filet mignon w/ blue cheese "crust" - which was more just a slather of blue cheese/sauce on top of the steak. It was good for the first few bites, but then the cheese overpowered the meat, so I removed most of it. The meatball and ceviche apps were very tasty. Broccolini was pretty good, had a little spice to it, not overpowering. Got the tableside Caesar, which had a nice presentation and friendly server. In general, service was excellent. Everyone wears these cool vintage letter jackets to add to the old timey steakhouse vibes. And finally, we did the carrot cake, which is one of their signature desserts. There were literally seven layers with a light cream cheese frosting in between each layer. Definitely would order again. Will be coming back for sure.

Sat at the chef’s counter. It’s a well run, clean, drama free kitchen — restaurant was full on a Monday night and they were really pumping out the food. Great staff and management. John the waiter was terrific. Food was impeccable. Amuse buche and a sorbet palate cleanser included in the experience. Overall, a great experience and not at all over-priced.

The food was satisfactory. A little bit greasy on the fajitas which we were looking forward to, but there was an ample amount of food for the price. The service was adequate, but it was not that busy and we were forgot a couple times. But all in all, it was a nice experience And we will definitely be back another time.
