Best Restaurants for Special Occasions in Kirkwood

Our waiter was fantastic! Knowledgable about the menu items and very relaxed yet attentive to our needs. The ambience was ok, we were seated next to the bar area with a lot of foot traffic going by our table all the time. Overall, a very good experience. Just a personal opinion that several of the menu items were not appetizing to me but I did find a fish dish that was very, very good. The tomato salad was excellent and perfect to split between two people.

The prime rib that one of our guests ordered was badly under-done, but the head waiter made it "right" in a hurry, coming out with a new plate of prime rib that was well-cooked and tasty. The noise level on a Saturday evening was a little distracting, but it was a blazing hot evening and we were unable to sit outside--- that would have helped. The staff arranged a new table for us that was farther away from the bar area and much better for our group. All in all, our guests had a terrific evening and the staff at 801 Local could not have been more accommodating. I would highly recommend it for a nice evening out with friends.

Excellent food service and ambience. We did the tasting menu and everything was exceptional.

My wife and I enjoyed our visit. We both went with the Strip Steaks, medium. She got the baked potato and salad w/ vinaigrette that came with the meal, and a side of Broccoli. I went with the Garlic smashed potatoes and a salad w/Mayfair. We both loved the red on the medium cook on the steaks and the sides matched. Add a nice cocktail and beer and it couldn’t have been much better. Best part, having a gift card from my daughter for my birthday!!
