Best Seasonal Restaurants in North Highlands

It was perfect.

This was our second visit to Canon. We went for my wife's birthday and our anniversary. The unique food offerings were all very inviting. We appreciated our waiter's input on making our selections. The meal was excellent and the variety of flavors were a treat for the taste buds. The first visit to Canon the taps were installed but no beers on tap. This trip they offered a few beers and being a beer drinker I appreciated the offerings. We'll definitely be back for the Summer menu.

We had a spectacular lunch yesterday at Omakase Por Favor. The idea of blending Mexica and Japanese ingredients and styles appealed greatly to us, and we were not at all disappointed. Our server, friendly and humorous, met us at the door and seated us, and we were immediately comfortable in the modern but somewhat spare dining room. The meal that followed met all of our wildest hopes. A tuna tostada subtly blended the two cuisines, while a Truffled Tuna Tataki stayed true to Japan, albeit with a ponzu sauce (house-made) added complexity to an already delicious dish. For those who want to sample more, OPF has a 2-for-$25 deal that gives you half portions of two dishes. On the whole, a wonderful experience.

What an experience! As soon as you walk in, you feel like you are on vacation. The outdoor patio and bar are such a vibe. The inside was a bit moodier but still had the same beach resort vibe. The drinks, food, and dessert were excellent. Service was great. Parking is limited. Overall we had a great time and will return.

Always outstanding service by waiter Stephen! He is very polite and accommodating. He serves every course efficiently. The shrimp entrees and the Cheddar Bay Biscuits are always tasty.
