It is operated by the couple, Chef Juan Lopez Luna et sommelier and wine importer Lindsay Brennan. Alma offers a tasting menu experience (5 or 9 courses) inspired by the concept of "mar y montana", largely influenced by Chef Juan's childhood memories of central Mexico as well as the couple's time spent on the coastal region of Oaxaca. Lopez is one of the few chefs in Canada working with heritage corn from Mexico, making fresh masa in-house each morning and tortillas by hand with his grandmother's traditional tortilla press. So impressed with the food and plating. Cozy restaurant, but not too formal, which makes customers feel more comfortable and joyful. The price is reasonable, I highly recommend it.

Encore un excellent moment à la Chronique; nous ne manquons jamais d’aller y diner à chacun de nos passages à Montréal; la cuisine est excellente, les produits goutus et fort bien préparés, cuissons parfaites, beaucoup d’originalité mais aussi de maîtrise. lieu peu bruyant (fort appréciable !), belle carte des vins avec bcp de belles références et à des prix honnêtes, et service très sympa et très pro. en conclusion, nous y retournerons lors de notre prochain passage !
