We love coming to the Star, it's one of the best places in Dunmow and have had some really great nights there. We did find the service really slow on our last visit 20/06/25 which was a little disappointing. Nevertheless its not put us off and we will be coming back.

Another lovely evening at this restaurant. Looked after Emma for service and very attentive and confident in her approach. Harry made a point of seeing us as did the Head Chef, which always make us feel valued and special guests. Lots of people were trying the tasting menu which looked interesting , but we were more than happy with our selections for starters and mains from the normal menu. I followed this up with a crème brûlée to finish, which was nice after the Chateaubriand. Great drinks too and the final bonus was that my wife paid the bill. Thanks again to all at The House by Hilly Gant.

Really good food, great selection of drinks and wine - went for the Malbec would highly recommended. Very attentious and the waiters are all very accommodating. Food was speedy and was accompanied with on the house bread and dips. Will be coming back in the future, 10/10
