Morella celebrates the gastronomic influences that immigrants from European countries, particularly Spain and Italy, had on Argentinian cuisine in the decades following the mass migrations at the turn of the 20th century. Morella features traditional empanadas, wood-smoked meats, pastas and internationally inspired drinks — all meant to be enjoyed in a bright convivial space. Our name, Morella, is a derivative of the word Morel, the earthy, nutty, and rare mushroom that is prized by chefs and restaurant connoisseurs, and is featured selectively in our menu who cousins make appearances in our vibrant decor.

We had the most exquisite dining experience we have ever had at birdsong last night. Each course was so intricate with all the components, crafted into a delicious little sample of halibut, or abalone or quail or a tiny salad with petals of a flower, a sprig of fennel, a herb leaf all together to make a hard to describe salad. Chef Chris checked dishes as they came out and his team worked together to provide an outstanding array of courses that made us marvel at how he created them. I also appreciate how he adapted things to accommodate my gluten sensitivity. We were thoroughly impressed.

The place was hopping on a Tuesday night. Service was outstanding. Must have dishes: 1. Smoked Trout Panzanella— sheer perfection. The “bread” in the salad are actually crouton chips so I recommend a side order of their insanely delicious bread. 2. Stracciatella was a beautiful balance of sweet peach and the creamy cheese. 3. And we loved loved Yaya’s fried chicken with its bright flavors and juicy meat. 4. The Tagliatella was good, but the other three outshined it.
