Steeped in history, The Lion dates back about 500 years, and was built when King Charles I was on the British throne and even before the famous Gunpowder Plot of 1605. Originally constructed as a house, for centuries the quirky building has been welcoming visitors as a traditional British pub. Listed as one of the Britain’s most important buildings, this is a slice of history set right in the heart of the Somerset countryside in a popular English village.     Absolutely recommend the Bath Arms hotel. Stayed 1 night. Service was great. Room very clean and spacious. Some nice little extra snacks in the room. Free fresh milk on request. On a busy road but outside of rush hour it quietens down and the provided earplugs weren’t needed overnight. It’s a grade ? Listed building so the windows can’t be changed. Food and drink very nice. Lovely breakfast served with a smile. For the price.. just book it.

    We had the 5-course Fathers Day menu, which was good value. We both had the roast beef, which was delicious with a good variety of vegetables. Puddings were both lovely

    We had the Bistro lunch menu Main courses were £12 and were delicious We had the duck salad and the burger with cheese and bacon. We then had desserts from the main menu which were £8 and superb. Thoroughly recommended

    Fantastic lunch at Bill's this week. I took my two neices during half-term and the staff were really friendly, taking our orders quickly and the drinks and food arrived promptly. Kids eat free deal is amazing, good portion size, and they provided water on the table automatically (I hate having to ask!) Online booking really easy and nice atmosphere in the restaurant.
