The Duke of Wellington Inn is nestled in the tranquil Tyne valley village of Newton just off the A69 near Corbridge, within easy access to Newcastle, Hadrian"s Wall Country, Hexham and Northumberland's National Park.     Attentive, polite and helpful service, a comprehensive menu catering for different tastes and requirements, friendly atmosphere, not crowded but, above all, excellent cuisine. We have never been let down in the Duke of Wellington, Newton, and highly recommend it to others. A booking is sensible as the restaurant (bar or dining - room) is justifiably popular.

    This was my 4th visit for the afternoon tea purchased via Groupon. I have never been disappointed. The service and attentive staff are the best I have ever encountered. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The dining area is very clean and comfortable. The afternoon tea is plentiful and of high standard. They even come out with a plate with happy birthday written in chocolate and a slice of wonderful chocolate cheesecake at no extra cost. I can't recommend this venue enough. Looking forward to my next visit.

    It’s a lovely place to take family, work colleagues and friends. Excellent menu and well run.One of my go to places. Please get HP sauce and not that lovely jar of fancy sweet brown sauce.😉 Definitely a recommend.
