Best Restaurants with a Happy Hour in Central

We ordered an 8 oz Picanha steak medium rare to share along with the potato mash. First we polished off a dozen oysters. Being from the west coast, we hesitated on the oysters but they were fresh and perfect. The steak was grilled to perfection and seasoned well. That cut of meat can be a bit lean and tough, but this was tender. As a chef myself, I would offer some advice for the potato mash. When whipping boiled potatoes to achieve a smooth consistency it can create too much gluten and result in a gummy texture. The flavor of the potatoes was excellent, but they were a bit gummy. We will be back!

Absolutely amazing meal. The Braised Bacon & Melon appetizer was a standout. It was rich, savory, and perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the melon. The hummus was delicious too, especially with the crispy wonton-style crackers such a fun and tasty twist. For me the trout dish stole the show! Honestly probably one of the best trout dishes I’ve ever had. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend!

Root Down is one of our very favorites. They are incredible in their food, service and atmosphere.

Our group of about 20 people had a marvelous experience at Happy Camper. The ease of making the reservation was a huge decision factor when choosing the location for our team dinner. We arrived early and were able to be seated right away. Our server Dylan was a rock star and kept our drinks full, and was on top of getting drink orders as more people arrived. The food was delivered and served quickly, and was delicious. The vibe helped make the night fun; everyone was able to move around and mingle. Thanks to everyone who helped make it a great event! We will be back!
