An ode to fire and sea, Fort Oak delivers the bold, wood-fired flavors that define Chef Brad Wise’s signature style. Centered around a live-fire hearth, the restaurant offers elevated yet approachable dishes alongside a refined seafood and raw bar. Smoke is the through line - simple, high-quality ingredients are transformed by flame into plates full of depth and character. Dry-aged ribeyes, duck, and whole branzino showcase the hearth’s intensity, while freshly shucked oysters and seafood towers bring a raw, briny counterpoint. And while the meats and seafood command attention, the vegetables have earned a reputation of their own - charred, caramelized, and layered with surprising complexity. Some say they steal the show - but that’s up to you to decide.

WELCOME TO CLOAK & PETAL!Where we invite you to journey into a place of both intimacy and companionshipOur concept is drawn from our name. The word “cloak” implies secrecy, inspiring our concept of a social sphere humming beneath the levels of ordinary life. “Petal” alludes to the Japanese tradition of “hanami,” when family and friends gather under blooming cherry blossoms to savor food, drinks and fellowship.Enter our space and travel underground to décor reminiscent of an abandoned Tokyo subway, a stratum of society all its own, an artist’s dream. Cross the threshold into a mystically transformed Japanese social dining lounge which appears to be an outdoor seating area, similar to a waiting platform. Sit beneath a trellis of draping vines and teardrop lights in the intimate space we’ve thoughtfully created, and feast on authentic Japanese sushi, appetizers, small plates and drinks with family and friends.Journey down to Cloak + Petal… and come unwind your soul.

Kettner Exchange is more than just a restaurant—it’s a dynamic culinary destination in the heart of San Diego’s Little Italy. With its inventive American cuisine, vibrant rooftop ambiance, and exceptional service, it’s no wonder this local favorite has earned recognition in the Michelin Guide. The ambiance is an experience in itself. Kettner Exchange masterfully blends modern sophistication with coastal California charm. The open-air rooftop, lush greenery, and nautical-inspired design create a buzzing yet laid-back atmosphere, perfect for both intimate dinners and spirited nights out with friends. The rooftop cabanas offer a touch of exclusivity and make for a stunning setting under the San Diego skyline. The food is a bold and exciting take on contemporary American cuisine, with global influences woven throughout. Executive Chef Brian Redzikowski delivers a menu that’s as playful as it is precise. The menu is constantly evolving, showcasing seasonal ingredients and creative flair, making each visit feel fresh and unique. Equally impressive is the service. The staff is polished, professional, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food and experience. From the moment you’re greeted to the last sip of a handcrafted cocktail, every detail is handled with care. The team is knowledgeable about both the menu and the extensive drink list, always ready with a recommendation that hits the mark. Kettner Exchange’s inclusion in the Michelin Guide is well-deserved. It exemplifies what the Guide looks for: quality ingredients, distinct personality, and consistently high-level execution. Whether you’re a local or visiting San Diego, Kettner Exchange is a must-visit for those who appreciate modern American cuisine in a setting that feels effortlessly upscale. In short, Kettner Exchange doesn’t just serve food—it serves an experience. One that satisfies the palate, delights the senses, and keeps you coming back for more.

Went in for their new “happy meal” $20 deal and it did not disappoint! They have this available M-F from 5pm-6pm. A burger, fries, 3 fried oysters, & a glass of champagne - what a fun idea! Everything tasted good. The restaurant was also completely empty at this time since it had just opened up, so the noise level was very low. I made a reservation on OpenTable but honestly you can probably just do a walk in any day between 5-6pm and still get seated.

I really like the happy hour. But overall, the sushi rice was not well done. The fish quality was great though. I probably won’t go back though.
