Best Fine Dining Restaurants in Downtown St. Louis

Gitto's never fails to be excellent. My son chose it for his birthday meal. Quinn, our sever, was experienced, attentive and fabulous. We had a bottle from one of our favorite wineries, Orin Swift. Our table had a variety of pastas and mains, all were top notch. It was nice to have house made toasted ravioli versus the frozen ones. Again, another Gitto's touch. In short, a great meal to celebrate a special occasion.

The food was amazing as always, and the service was top notch. Drinks are amazing here true mixologists. Hard to find a place like this in STL. Only negative and it’s not really negative but the place is pricey.

Didn’t know what to expect, but I’ve only heard amazing things so far. As the chef explained, the menu offered things I probably wouldn’t order at a regular restaurant. So I appreciate the thought put in with creating the menu and dishes.

This weekend evening at dinner time when the local baseball game was on-going should have provided personalized and individualized care. However, with one bartender and one server (I so no food runner or assistants or managers either) the service was slow. When it happened, the server was marginal but the bartender, Toni, was absolutely fabulous! She not only made you feel welcome and appreciated, she made the BEST Paper Plane in the Universe! The mix of doos that we selected was well presented and tasty. The menu however is very small and Pennydrop is more of an upscale bar with a small bar menu as opposed to a full service restaurant with an amazing bar. When the baseball game finished and a crowd from the game flowed in, the service slowed even further and lines at the bar were much longer. With a few more staff members, the experience would have been maximized. Regardless of this, I will be back for my next Paper Plane before I head out of town.
