Best Fine Dining Restaurants in Birmingham

Alex/Alexis is an EXCEPTIONAL waitress. She was very detailed on the menu, friendly, attentive to the table, listened about food allergies. We were all very pleased with the service! So much so that we only want her going forward. The food was ok. My hubby had the Japanese Waygu where the chef came out to explain and show the steak along with presenting my hubby with a certificate of authenticity. My sister and I had filets which were def overdone. We both asked for medium and received well done. She had hers recooked and I just kept mine. The ambiance and the decor are fabulous. We spent about $700 including a tip of $110. Will we be back, yes we will. Next time I’ll ask for a medium rare steak.

Had a wonderful evening. The the service was spectacular, the drinks were great and the food was spectacular.

We visited for our anniversary. The service, from the host greeting us and our server, were excellent. They each wished us a happy anniversary at the beginning and end of the meal. I enjoy the drink menu and the seasonality of the food menu. We love the Greek salad. It isn’t a typical Greek and is something special. This was the first time since our first visit that we ordered the bread as an appetizer. I wish I hadn’t. The price and menu indicated that it was artisanal and top tier bread. It was neither. This was a true miss. At $15, it should be stellar. They served a tomato consommé as an amuse bouche. It was fantastic. I wish it was on the menu. We also ordered a filet. It was overcooked a bit was still tasty. The beat salad with grilled chicken was a bit average. The fries could have been wonderful but came out less than warm and not quite salty enough. We had to leave in a bit of a hurry so they gave us some fresh madeleine cookies to go. There was live music in the lobby. This was the first time that I’ve seen live music at the Daxton. I’d like to see this more frequently. Overall, there were of couple of things that, if tweaked, would make Madame truly special.
