Uptown location and atmosphere—dark colors with bold red flourishes, floral walls and plenty of instaworthy decor. Sadly staff does not necessarily seem to realize they work at one of the most expensive steakhouses in Charlotte. Little touches that I’m talking about—tables were streaky and sticky, several glasses dirty, waiter not knowledgeable about ingredients clearly on menu, food placed in front of wrong customers (only 2 tables in restaurant), drinks served without napkins and placed on wooden table. I know that’s picky, but when most steaks on the menu near $100, I think you’ve placed yourself in the high end dining sphere. We did overall enjoy our lunch. The drinks and food were delicious, and I recommend going for the lunch prix fixe menu so you can completely enjoy the food and stomach the check. The manager could easily make some changes with staff to make it more worth the sticker price at dinner.

Eric who is in upper management made sure that this experience was a great one. Our server Shelley also was incredible making sure that each step of our dining journey was excellent! This was certainly the quality that we are used to when visiting the Cellar.. thank you again Eric and to the Cellar management for making sure the experience remains top tier.

We went to Mazi to celebrate my 22nd birthday, and I found it impressive on several fronts. Portions are small—as noted online and by our waiter—but the concept of sharing multiple small dishes was something I personally enjoyed. While the pricing may feel high for the quantity, the elegant, Manhattan-esque atmosphere added value to the experience. It started quiet but became lively as more guests arrived, making conversation a bit challenging, though not bothersome. Our waiter (I believe his name was Jermaine) was delightful, highly knowledgeable, and guided us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations. Above all, the flavors were phenomenal—easily a million out of ten in taste. Mazi is perfect for anyone who enjoys posting their night out—here you will find both flavor and flair.
