We were looking for an alternative to normal Sunday menu and we came across the white swan, I’m normally suspicious of such an extensive menu, but I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my generous smoked duck dish with accompanying rice and crackers. My mum really enjoyed her salmon dish. No room for puds. The roasts that we could see being served looked very good.

Last minute change to our plans as booked elsewhere and had to change at last minute. 6.39 sitting. 5 people. Easy booking online. Not many there at that time so ambiance wasn’t buzzing. But food good and service friendly and professional and answered our questions. Food all good One member of our party who is a chef thought the hand cut chips were a bit ‘old’. Good portions and well presented food. Thank you.

This boutique hotel was a great find and we will definitely be going back. The rooms are really beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The menu was lovely and the food delicious, the portions are generous and I struggled to eat two courses! Breakfast was also delicious and plentiful. Really good service and atmosphere. The courtyard was a lovely surprise as from the front you do not realise how big it is.

Lovely shared starter of seafood sizzler. I had a delicious prawn and crab linguine as a main, my partner had the fish and chips. The apple and blackberry crumble was nice but too hot for my partner and it never really cooled down. I had Eton Mess which I usually love but I felt it needed a bit more meringue. We were the only people in the restaurant area most of the time which meant that the service was very fast and we were finished within 1.5 hours. That said the waitress was very pleasant and efficient. All in all a lovely evening.
