The Fox & Pheasant is a little “country” pub tucked away in a small corner of Chelsea. The pub was founded in 1846 and it began its life as the Bedford Arms. Ten years later it changed to the Prince of Wales and in 1965 became The Fox & Pheasant and we have no intention of changing its name again!Not only are we a snug pub in the winter with 3 fire places, a dartboard and dog biscuits for the well behaved companions (dogs)! 'The Crabtree, with its spectacular position downstream from The River Cafe,has a huge sprawling garden, a glazed colonnade and frontage on to theThames shaded by a weeping willow. The prawns in chilli hot oil and the toastspread with tomatoes and onions were good, so much so we ordered themagain when we returned for Sunday lunch. Good service and good food but lady behind bar told us don’t usually cater for nine people as there wasn’t a table for us a couple kindly moved to allow us to occupy a larger one I would like to return but would they be able to accommodate us in the future

The food was great but this was let down by the hesitant service we were told to sit where we liked but no table wax actually set properly . This made the initial impression not great however the food was amazing. You just need to concentrate on customer service and creating an ambience . Although we had booked it was like we weren’t expected weird considering how quiet it was. Get the customer service right and you will do well because the food was delicious

Pleasant family pub, good food, music a little loud for two partially deaf gentleman & ourselves to be able to chat!
