This hidden gem, a short walk from London Bridge, is London’s first real wine bar opened in 1965 by John Davy trading as a Free Vintner. Brimming with genuine character and jovial service, it has the feel of a private members club (for ladies and gentleman) and is home to some of the most original private rooms in the area. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our real charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails that give back and wine on tap in our atmospheric chop mecca. This is a a perfect place to have small nibbles and a few cocktails, its a little bit more money than others however nice little bites with world class service in customer care. Our waiters were divine. Credit where credit is due.

We had a wonderful meal here before a show at the Globe. Service was fantastic and we got great recommendations - we each loved our plates and the app we got. Great wine selection too.

We were made to feel like VIP'S, with excellent service, as we enjoyed our 'afternoon tea' at the Gourmet bar restaurant. The food was classic, with a good assortment of sandwiches, scones and cakes served with tea or coffee, nothing special but nice.
