Best Casual Restaurants in University Heights

Outstanding from start to finish! Have been wanting to come here for years so I decided to celebrate my birthday with my friends. The location, decor and ambiance are gorgeous. The menu had a birthday message on it, the servers were friendly, helpful and kind and the food was AWESOME! We got the arancini, the eggplant, the burrata and beets, Caesar salad, cacio de Pepe, funghi misti pizza, and a few others. We loved it all! The drinks were stellar as well. They even brought out a tiny cannoli with a candle. Thank you for making my birthday lovely. We will be back. Again and again. So great!

The spouse & I were visiting my daughter, who lives in San Diego. She had not been to Madison & neither had we. We all enjoyed the tomato & burrata appetizer. We also had the cioppino, Tuscan sausage rigatoni & chicken piccata; all were so good! Spouse & I had the Ibarra & The Woodsman, which were delicious. Service from Kylee excellent. We also enjoyed the music. My daughter plans to bring her roommates here.

It was so much more than the exquisite meal - it was an experience. Callie’s servers are the most knowledgable, best trained, most service oriented team we’ve ever experienced. We had the tasting menu which was EXTRAORDINARY and - for the brave - the delicious Kook Juice from the bar. Our favorite place to dine in San Diego!

Amazing celebration after our wedding. The food is always great and our server, Jessie was cheerful, appreciative of our celebration, brought a mud pie as a wedding cake and genuinely joined in to make our experience so festive and joyful! The bay was beautiful with clear blue skies. It could not have been better. Thank you for helping us celebrate the day.

Great food, great service. We sat at the rooftop on a beautiful, sunny day. It was really nice and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We took our 4 year old daughter. It’s very family and dog friendly.
