Best Casual Restaurants in Montchanin

It seems crazy to rate a restaurant experience a 5/5 on EVERY aspect, but our experience on Saturday, 12/7 2024 was spectacular! I made a reservation for 2 @8:00pm to celebrate my 2 year anniversary with my girlfriend. Not being from the area at all, picking from such a wide array of restaurants in Wilmington was a bit overwhelming. Needless to say, La Fia was the right choice. When we arrived, we were seated immediately in the back, private corner of the restaurant. The ambience is extremely warm and cozy, and despite the restaurant being full, the noise was minimal. Our server, Natasha ( I hope we remember correctly!) was SPOT ON. We were greeted, and offered a toast on the house. It was delicious! Such a nice touch. We ordered the Stracciatella starter, which I really cannot explain well - but it is a must order. We also got extra toast when our waitress noticed we flew through it - lol. We ordered a round of cocktails and our mains. Our whole experience was well-paced. For dinner, I ordered the grilled pork coppa. Balanced, tender and absolutely stunning. However, I was tempted by what my girlfriend ordered - the Parsnip Agnolotti. We both admittedly tried to eat slowly… but the food was way too good. Since it was our special day, we both ordered a dessert + a cappuccino and a latte. The chocolate cake and the roasted banana ice cream. Both were absolutely delicious - rich but so balanced. A real treat! We are both incredibly impressed. The food, atmosphere and most importantly, the people at La Fia create a safe and welcoming place to share your special moments! We will return.

Our server, Andrew, was outstanding, explaining the menu, consistently attentive, made our anniversary dinner extra special! Our entire dinner from appetizers to dessert was amazing! We will be back 

We had a terrific night out at Capers and Lemons. The food was delicious and the service was perfect. Absolutely must order the prosciutto Gorgonzola and fig flat bead for appetizers, the short rib agnolotti for dinner and the tiramisu for dessert. You won’t be disappointed. Purchased a holiday gift at their shop on the way out!

I choose Iron Hill to celebrate my birthday and I definitely was Not disappointed! The food was wonderful from the appetizers, to the main course of salmon, then the upside down pecan apple pie dessert! The staff was extremely busy, but I did not feel neglected at any point. My server Renée was absolutely on point and fabulous! She did not miss a beat! In this time of finding good help, somehow or another Iron Hill has found a Jewel with Renée, as well as their Manager! She too was Exceptional & went Above & Beyond! A Special Thank You for making me feel so very Special on my Birthday! You out did yourselves! God Bless!

Limited menu, but don’t be afraid to ask the chef for what you want. My wife wanted linguine with clams ( not on the menu). They made the dish for her. I had a perfectly cooked veal chop. Great restaurant!
