Visitors were in for a treat at the lofty rate of $7 per week. The property boasted a dance hall with a piano, a tennis court, a bowling alley, and a fine dock built for excursions. The lush and bountiful grounds were graced by a gentle wind flowing down the creek, and magnificent sunsets were presented nightly over the inlet. Windamere was known for delightful entertainment for guests and neighboring yacht clubs, most notably a 500-person singing society arriving by train for a midsummer performance on the great lawn.

I highly recommend Dark Horse! Had the Merlot Braised Beef and just delicious. Soups were really good too. If this place was located in the Hamptons or the North Fork, you wouldn't be able to get a reservation at this place. It's that good! But in Riverhead, should be an easy get. Go!
