Located inside of what was once a Chinese schoolhouse, Brasserie l'Ecole in Victoria, British Columbia now serves high-end French cuisine in a casual setting. The name is actually a nod to this building's former occupation (l'Ecole means 'the school' in French) and the unpretentious atmosphere (a Brasserie is laidback eatery that serves comfort food).Chef leans heavily on our local farmers, using seasonal ingredients to create a menu that is a callback to the kind of food that was once common along the French countryside.
