As soon as Amy Chanta flung open the doors in 1989 Chat Thai became an instant smash hit with Sydney diners already familiar with Thailand and no appetite for compromising on ingredients, flavours, textures and aromas. Searching all across Sydney for the correct vegetables, herbs and sauces Amy was able to set herself apart through a stubborn dedication to reminding diners of their unforgettable food experiences on the streets of Bangkok.Three decades later we are proud to continue Amy’s vision by adding organic vegetables from Boon Luck Farm to serve up authentic Thai dishes we ourselves want to eat. Unique flavours the Thai diaspora crave from the motherland but struggle to find outside of their own home cooking.

    Service excellent. Barramundi also great as usual, Parmii rather dry and overcooked. Very noisy. Also, extremely cold sitting by the side door opening all the time. Thanks to staff who found us another table.

    Great dinner with the family. Had a lovely booth, staff were attentive but not rushing us. Food was delicious. Only critique would be portion size has reduced. Cost of living eh!

    We went during lunch instead of dinner to try the experience. Since the price was unbelievably cheap, we didn’t have high expectations — but the dishes turned out to be incredibly good for the price. We were a bit disappointed that only three pieces of sushi were served, but the other dishes more than made up for it! We’re definitely planning to go back for dinner next time. If you just want a simple experience, trying the lunch menu isn’t a bad idea. It was a lunch that made us look forward to dinner.

    The service was exceptional. The food was delicious. Overall we had such a wonderful experience. The staff went out of their way in every aspect ! Would highly recommend for anyone to visit this restaurant truly was an exceptional night !
