Fearrington House Restaurant
From partnerships with local farms, including Duckwood Farms and Heritage Farms, to vegetables and herbs harvested from gardens on the property, to dishes that celebrate North Carolina’s four distinct seasons, The Fearrington House’s mission to provide Relais & Chateaux level cuisine and service to guests has remained constant since opening in 1980.
Our menu is complemented by a beverage program featuring an extensive wine list, a fully-equipped bar, cocktails with local ingredients, and beers celebrating North Carolina breweries. The wine and liquor program are overseen by Beverage Director Paula de Pano.

We very much enjoyed our anniversary dinner at The Fearrington House restaurant. The staff seemed very conscious of pandemic safety and all wore masks. Because of a sudden rain storm, we were unable to dine But distance is between diners were more than adequate. The food was interesting and delicious and the service was excellent.
The service was absolutely outstanding. We were there for a joint 40th wedding anniversary with another couple and had a wonderful time.
Everything was amazing and fresh.
The food was divine! The 3 course meal was more that just food, it was an experience!
Perfect for a night out with your significant other. Delicious food, great atmosphere, gorgeous grounds surrounding the restaurant.
Definitely one of the best places to go in the Ral-Dur-Ch area. The service was excellent- so attentive and kind! The food was delicious and beautifully prepared. The she-Crab salad and halibut were a personal favorite and the chocolate soufflé is a must. Little extras made for a delightful surprise and there was so much thought and care to the whole experience. Worth every penny for a special occasion and looking forward to going back
Amazing! Really enjoyed the food and wine pairing.
My wife and I have been to the Fearrington numerous times and the food, drinks, and service have always been amazing. On this occasion, we made a reservation for my daughter and her friend to celebrate her birthday, the Fearrington provided a small gift bag filled with little goodies, and had a menu with her name on it. Thanks to the Fearrington for making my daughters dining experience a night to remember!
This is a special place for a remarkable dinner. I made the reservation on Open Table and I didn't really know what to expect based on the information provided on Open Table's website. The Fearrington House is a fixed-price multi-course 2.5 hour dinner. If you are into that sort of experience, you must go because it is outstanding. We had 3 courses which came with 4 complimentary mini-courses -- canapes, amuse bouche, a pre-dessert palate cleanser, and tiny candies with the check. We really enjoyed every dish -- the standouts were the gazpacho with watermelon, duck breast and dark chocolate souffle. The wine list is extensive with lots of older vintages and very reasonably priced. I can't wait to return.
Superb personal service, beautiful atmosphere, thoughtful extras and perfect preparation.
The food courses were excellent. Farm to table choices were flavorable and interesting in their make up. The service was outstanding, very attentive, and all were very knowledgeable about the dishes. The venue was very clean and the view from the main dining room out on the arbor and lawn was nice. A great experience in dining.
We have been to the Fearrington House Restaurant 4 times, the latest being in July 2020. Each time has been special. The food is phenomenal, the service is amazing, and the setting and atmosphere makes for a wonderful experience. If you are looking for a really special experience, especially to mark a life event like an anniversary, I would strongly recommend Fearrington. While our toddler did not dine with us, we did stop by Fearrington early to check out the cows, goats, and chickens. He loved it!
Absolutely fabulous, as always!
Selections were a bit "heavier" than usual but world class in every respect.
My fiancé and I dined her to celebrate our engagement! We have visited other relais chateauxs across the north east and this was by far one of our favorites. We are having our reception at the fearrington next year and the quality of the food and our overall experience just resonated that we made the best choice! Thank you!
Birthday. Excellent food.
Everyone needs to treat themselves and eat here at least once in their lifetime! Truly a culinary masterpiece!
Well done, especially considering COVID-19 restrictions.
What can i say. It's elegant, tasty, relaxed, accommodating (they switched a 2nd course to a main course portion). Several times a year we treat ourselves to the Fearrington.
Excellent and very relaxing evening of good service and awesome food!
outstanding experience! Their social distancing response to Covid was spot on and did not interfere with the environment or enjoyment of our evening.
As always, our dinner at Fearrington House Restaurant was fantastic. We had four courses and really, really enjoyed, the food, ambiance, service, cocktails and wine, etc. This place can not get any better n our opinion. And any COVID protocols were not intrusive at all, actually quite welcome. Thank you for opening and allowing us to enjoy this magical place!
Our favorite restaurant. They handled social distancing well. Sommelier remembered the wine I like. The spot to go for special events.
The food was excellent and the wait staff was very courteous, but the service was very slow. We did not get our official first course until 1 1/2 hours after we were seated. The waiter did not come by to check on us or give us an update, which would have been nice. But he was very courteous and friendly when he did come by. We understand it was opening night, but more communication about delays would have been appreciated.
Everything was perfect!
Fearrington House offers a cleanly classical, uncrowded setting; a warm greeting; quiet, attentive service; enjoyable amuse-bouches; fair but uninteresting wine by the glass; and food which, on the Wednesday night when we were there, fell well short of the standards we had come to expect in the Relais et Chateaux in France. It know that it is fashionable to serve duck rare, but mine was too rare even though I requested medium. I just don't think that you can actually taste duck served rare, and it seems rather savage. The desserts were more interesting, mine a fine combination of dark chocolate syrup in a well of light chocolate mousse. On the whole, however, I don't really understand how Fearrington House keeps its Michelin rating.
Entree of lobster was a tad over cooked but overall wonderful experience
My significant other says it's the best meal she has ever eaten! I would say that it's one of my top 2, running neck-and-neck with the other meal I had at Fearrington House 10-12 years ago!
The Fearrington House restaurant is a cozy, inviting space with several smaller rooms in which to dine. The service is attentive and efficient. For the price, the food was a notch below excellent. The choice of breads and the butter were outstanding. The tuna was lacking in taste and one piece was somewhat membranous. The salmon was very good, but again, not outstanding. The presentation of the courses was nice and the additional between-course offerings were charming. It was a lovely evening and everything was very good, but we were expecting outstanding, and it was not.
For a night before Valentine’s Day we kept getting missed. They certainly had enough staff but whoever was assigned to our table had to be called or signaled. There was about 20 minutes between cocktail menu and server returning. Then I do believe it was the head waiter who finally showed up. Bread?? We had to ask for an additional serving. I can’t even imagine going there on a holiday!
Amazing setting, very cozy and intimate place to celebrate any occasion.
Fearrington House continues to be a superb dining experience. We recently ate at a three-star Michelin restaurant in NYC and feel that the food at Fearrington is its equal. Our service was exceptional as well - attentive but unobtrusive. Wonderful!!
Wonderful food. Great wine pairings. Exceptional job.
Best food and service since I left NY and the CIA restaurants.
Just wonderful. Each course was perfection. I couldn’t finish the chocolate soufflé though. Pity!
An amazing dinner experience. Food that is delicious and beautifully plated aimed at foodies/gourmets.
Looking for that special unique dining experience this is that place. Plan on 3 plus hours to fully enjoy the experience of not the food but the flavors of the chef’s palate. Wonderful
Absolutely memorable. A culinary delight--great food and wine accompanied with education on the dinner selections. Lots of pleasant surprises during the meal and a wonderful take away package at the end. Our server could not have been better. A true 5 diamond experience.
Always a great experience dining at Fearrington house!
