Fearrington House Restaurant
From partnerships with local farms, including Duckwood Farms and Heritage Farms, to vegetables and herbs harvested from gardens on the property, to dishes that celebrate North Carolina’s four distinct seasons, The Fearrington House’s mission to provide Relais & Chateaux level cuisine and service to guests has remained constant since opening in 1980.
Our menu is complemented by a beverage program featuring an extensive wine list, a fully-equipped bar, cocktails with local ingredients, and beers celebrating North Carolina breweries. The wine and liquor program are overseen by Beverage Director Paula de Pano.

Lovely night. Spent around 3 hours enjoying the tasting menu and wine pairings. Todd, our server was delightful and Bob, the sommelier was on point with the pairings and delivery of the wine descriptions and why they were selected was fun and interesting.
Outstanding as advertised. Looking forward to the next visit.
This is truly a special dining experience. The staff were incredible and the food is simply amazing! Highly recommended! One of the few AAA 5-Diamond restaurants in NC!
As always, our visit was remarkable. We have dined in both the dining room and bar and the bar is our go to for a quick one hour dinner when we’re in the area. Excellent bar menu for both the meal and drinks. I am pregnant and they brilliantly recreated my favorite tequila cocktail on their menu as a mocktail. The best mocktail I’ve ever been served. A+ and a favorite place of ours in the area.
Great food and beautiful grounds - I was disappointed with the lack of atmosphere. There was intermittent music, but the volume was so low I felt I had to whisper to my wife as to not interrupt other guests, and the lighting was reminiscent of a doctor's office. I also had reserved our table over a month in advance and there was no offer of outdoor seating - instead, we got put in the back at a large circular table. It was just me and my wife.
For a meal that pricey I would expect a much nicer experience - we are unlikely to return for a dinner there.
Phenomenal food and service. We will be back.
40th Birthday- absolutely delicious
Wonderful celebration for my husband's 75th Birthday! Food was excellent & our waiter Jason was exceptional!
So much wonderful goodness going on here. And we highly recommend for an elegant and elevated dining experience--especially if you're celebrating a big event. (In our case, our 15th wedding anniversary.)
About the food
I had the omnivore tasting menu; my husband took the vegetarian option. Food was lovely--artfully prepared and delicious. Our only criticism is that some of the savoury dishes were sweeter than expected. This may be a regional preference.
Worth the visit. Come hungry and with time to dine in a beautiful setting.
This restaurant has beautiful ambience and a fantastic staff. The food leaves something to be desired. Over reliance on sweet components to savory dishes that did not compliment, some dishes had no salt while others were overly salted. The menu appears to need help figuring out how to balance flavors and what appropriate salt levels are. Though we did enjoy 2 of the 6 dishes. Also, they somehow put an entire wedding party ahead of our final course leaving us waiting for 40 minutes in between. They kindly comped us half the meal and a beverage for the wait without us asking but nevertheless it created an unfavorable dining experience.
Everything was excellent, other than their wonderful Maître D of many years has retired. It is just not the same without him! He really set the tone for the experience, and that was missing in a very obvious way.
My husband and I spent a memorable date night evening at Fearrington House. We chose a three course dinner with the wine pairing. Food was amazing - as were the amuse bouche and palatte cleansing pre-dessert. The wines were excellent and poured by knowledgeable sommeliers. And when I opted against a fortified wine with dessert they gave me a second glass of the rose pinot noir I had loved with my shrimp dish. Amazing night in a beautiful place; just beware the price tag!!!
The food was amazing. Many exquisite flavors with each plate. Next time I will do the 3 course meal. 4 was too much even with fasting thay day. Maybe I got full from so many flavors but it was worth it.
This is great for a "fancy" celebratory meal. The service is top-notch. The food is very interesting, but really not that tasty. I've been there twice in 40 years. That's enough for me.
The food was wonderful. The chief used a variety of spring vegetables in creative ways.
Fabulous event. Always a special outing.
Wonderful dining experience. Excited about returning with different people
My wife and I celebrated our 5th anniversary here and it was wonderful! We each had the 4-course dinner and the food was outstanding. The service was excellent as well, and we even received a custom-printed menu congratulating us on our anniversary. I'm sure we'll eat here again some day!
It was a totally relaxing experience with food that was simply over the top.
Great food and even better service. Very limited, intimate seating.
Always a class act! Food and service are always exceptional.
As always, it was an excellent experience! You were so appreciative of the precautions taken by the staff.
The setting, welcome and wine choice was perfect. Perhaps one or two the dishes sacrificed a little on the perfection of delivery for an array of tastes, but many of them were also perfect.
Shallow pours on paired wine dinner.
Lovely special occasion dinner. Great presentation. Knowledgeable sommelier.
Wife and I went for our first anniversary, it was an amazing experience that we will cherish.
We had a lovely meal and always enjoy our visits to Fearrington House. Everything was excellent as usual.
Great experience as always. Very accommodating with gluten sensitivities.
Jason the head server was awesome and Safe (sp) the wine specialist was so helpful and patient. The food was the best we have ever had anywhere! We did the chefs tasting menu and was so thrilled we choose that and then the next night we choose the 4 courses, again fantastic!
When we made the reservation we had been told we would be next to the fire and away from others (Covid). There was no fire going, and they had us at a table next to someone else.
This was the best birthday celebration I have ever had. The staff was very friendly and I enjoyed the pageantry of it all. Very elegant and professional with a soothing and calm atmosphere.
Service and ambiance were great. But we did not enjoy the food. We decided to go with Tasting menu, the Goat cheese tart and main course were great but other meals not really
Very talented chef. High quality food,
Service was excellent.
wonderful collection of tastes! very innovative dishes
Outstanding as usual. Best restaurant in US
Wonderful atmosphere, high class, a bit pricy, a once a year experience
The wine pairings with our meal were excellent but the amount of each wine poured seemed skimpy considering the cost. Some of the food courses were served warm rather than hot. The food quality was excellent.
Way overpriced and super impressive on paper but not actually delicious. We've done some really nice dinners with wine pairings but this was really not very tasty (although plating was beautiful and service good). Wine pairings were miniscule and overpriced. Not a great experience.
We visited the restaurant on 2/25/21 for our anniversary. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and brought to our table to begin our “experience”.
The restaurant offers a chefs menu where you can sample multiple courses for the evening and we chose to partake of the chefs sampling.
The sommelier first recommended a South African wine (unfortunately the had just served their last bottle) but brought us a Napa blend as an alternative.
Every course was a flavor adventure. The prosciutto wrapped quail appetizer was exquisite. Next were scallops cooked to perfection. The main course was a seared beef tenderloin followed by cheese and multiple deserts.
The service was exquisite, the meal fantastic and the setting just right.
A definite gem where you can enjoy a leisurely taste sensational getaway.
An another amazing visit to this restaurant. Service and food was impeccable. You cannot go wrong with any of the selections. Will return when they update their seasonal menu.
