As always, some of the best cooking in the city!!! Have never been for lunch (only for dinner) and the value for the price was superb.
I was disappointed this time at Etoile. The waiter allowed us to sit for 10 minutes before he took drink orders. The Goat Cheese Salad as a beginning course needs work. And Theoretically it should be difficult to mess up Dover Sole as our main course, but I am not sure it was really Dover Sole, and it was masked with all sorts of vegetables on top of the Dover Sole. In my opinion, Dover Sole is such a great fish (and it is very expensive), there is no reason to do anything but take the fish meat from the bone and have a simple butter sauce. I lived in Boston for two years, and in Boston there were all sorts of fish called “Sole”. At Eroile, normally a great French bistro, they really messed up one of the great fish dishes in the world. It was hard to tell if we had Dover Sole or something else. The Profiteroles for dessert were the best I have ever had, so I guess the Dessert Chef was in on a Thursday night. If I were the owners of Etoile, a highly rated restaurant in Houston, I sure would not allow the Main Course Cheff to mess with Dover Sole.Simple is best. We will certainly go back to Etoile; however, when I order Dover Sole (the most expensive main course item on the menu), I am going to request it prepared simply and deboned at the table.
Always reliably delicious. Food has great flavors and sauces. I could eat the Lobster / avocado/ tarragon salad at every meal.

A stand-out restaurant! The veal and snapper were excellent! But quite frankly, our waiter Artan made the dinner exceptional! He was a fun, charasmatic personality.

The service was very good. This was the second time in a week that I had dinner there and had the same waiter. He was very attentive and pleasant.

Etoile is the best place to dine in the greater Houston area, it was packed full even if you have a reservation. We still had to wait which is okay, The host directed us to the bar while waiting for a table to open up. The manager I think his name was Brady or Brandy, kept checking on us and was super nice and was trying to do anything he could for us to ensure that we were going to be seated soon, truthfully we expected to be busy.The food was amazing and the cocktails. Oh man they are amazing props to the chef and the bartender. If you are ever in the Houston area and want a delicious bite to eat come here. Highly recommended
I made a reservation for 11:45 am. When I arrived, I was told to have a seat at the bar. We were told that a table was not available because there were a lot of people who came in at 11:00 and would have to wait for them to finish. I commented that we had reservations, yet the manager, Braden, told me there was nothing he could do and couldn’t provide an estimated wait time. So my party decided to have a drink at the bar. After 30 minutes, I asked for an update on a table, Braden told me it would be another 20 minutes or so. I was shocked to hear about a 50 min wait on a reservation. Braden then rudely says “as I explained to you earlier, there were people who got here at 11. You can go up to their tables and tell them that you are waiting and see if they get up”.
The rudeness is completely unacceptable. Luckily Terrance was able to seat us at a table after the unnerving interaction with Braden, “the manager”. There were two other parties who also waiting even though they had reservations.
Don’t expect a reservation is honored. There is no need to ever return to a place where the manager is so rude.
The food at Etoile is always very good and very consistent. I was disappointed with the beef tartare, which was not like any I have ever eaten. I will definitely stick to a different appetizer in the future
I don't need fifty wood to talk about Etoile. It is one of Houston's best restaurants!

We all had the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu, the food was absolutely perfect. I had the chèvre salad, duck, and chocolate dessert. It just could not have been any better; the duck was perfectly cooked, the chevre was covered in almonds, and the chocolate dessert was just yummy. Service was excellent. We sat in the wine room, which was very elegant. It was an expensive evening, definitely a special occasion restaurant, but it was truly amazing.
A delightful place with excellent food and caring, non-intrusive service. What a treat! The flavors are outstanding... but each time I come I keep gravitating to the same, wonderful, truly French specialties. I need to not look at the menu and say, “just bring me your favorite”... I’m sure it would be great. Thank you for doing things so well...

My friend and I went to Etoile for Restaurant Week. We were a bit disappointed by the food. My food tasted good, but the portions were small (melon salad and ravioli). My friend didn't like her filet of sole, which she thought was greasy. We've eaten at Etoile several times, and we loved it at all our previous occasions, so I think we may have just hit a bad day. It's a very nice restaurant and we had good service, and we'll go back again.
The food and service is always excellent as usual. Unfortunately, we were seated next to a screaming toddler. 45 minutes of non stop screaming really ruined our lunch.
All employees were kind with great attitude and offered an excellent service. DD was our waitress and he did a great job; he even had a great conversation with us. The food was extremely delicious and sufficient for us. We will go back!
