We sat outside for the green hour, or happy hour. Excellent service, we had drinks and bites, they were good and the price was right!
overall an occasion that would be fine to repeat. excellent food win and service. the only exception was the octopus appetizer which although delicious was long on potatoes and short on octopus.
The people there were mostly older so I was definitely the youngest person there. The food was amazing and it would be a great spot for a business meal or a date.
Everything was delicious and presented beautifully. Definitely one of our favorites.
Great experience, fabulous French food, terrific service.
Love the food, and staff is incredible!!
We had a wonderful experience. Our waiter was a true delight- the food unique and delicious.
Menu varies with excellent specials
One of Houston's best
Excellent as usual
One of are many visits. Food and service are consistently very good. Will visit soon again
My fiance and I love going to Etoile - it is one of our favorite upscale restaurants in Houston and we celebrate many of our "special occasions" here. I have never had something that was not delicious - from the drinks, to the food, and the desserts, everything is top notch! Perfect for a special night out or when you're looking to treat yourself.
Get the $65 four course pre fix. Amazing
Good French food; duck was surprisingly unremarkable, but everything else was good.
One of the best restaurants in town
Outstanding food and service! Every course was delicious! We had gotten married the day before and they brought out a beautiful dessert with congratulations and hearts made out of chocolate and raspberry sauce! Very sweet. Cocktails were great and they have an extensive wine list too!
The service was fantastic from start to finish. Every last morsel of food was to die for --- especially the foie gras. I cannot stop thinking about it. Shame on me!
The energy is a bit livelier on the porch than inside. The restaurant was comfortably crowded on a Saturday night. The clientele is definitely aged like a fine whiskey (we are 40, and we felt young!!) -- but there were a few hipster twentysomethings in the mix.
This place is just as fabulous for date night as it is for a special occasion.
Delicious food and great ambiance.
It's my favorite restaurant in all of Houston. What more can I say? It's good to be there and the staff are all wonderful. The food is exceptional in my opinion.
Jamais déçus, une excellente cuisine française.
Un service à la française dans un cadre discret et calme. Des assiettes équilibrées, savoureuses pleines de produits frais, de qualités. Un vrai chef créatif qui allie tradition et modernité sans fausse note.
Fantastic food and service. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Uptown Park is under reconstruction so limited parking followed by Valet snatching what parking was left is not ideal. Will come back after the construction is done and calms everything down
Parfait, comme d'habitude. La cuisine est raffinée et le service impeccable.
We brought out of town friends on a weekday night and had a superb meal, fantastic service and the usual lovely ambiance that Etoile offers. We had various appetizers (escargots, salad, ravioli) and mains (halibut special, salmon, rack of lamb and duck l'orange). All were fantastic and beautifully presented as well as tasty. We shared two desserts (lemon tart, raspberry dessert) which were also great. The special cocktail as well as the wine and non-alcoholic beer were also great and fairly priced. There aren't many restaurants in Houston that reward repeated visits with the same stellar level of food, service and experience (and with enough variety to not be bored with the menu). Kudos to Etoile!
This has quickly moved to my #1 position for Houston restaurants. We stumbled on it a few Saturdays ago for "date night". The food and service were amazing. I chose it for my birthday dinner. I couldn't believe it when the food was again off the charts! We are going again next week before we go to the theatre. Personal service from Annie, Didi, Ali and Arten are all great. Philippe (the owner) came out of the kitchen to introduce himself to us as well. It is my favorite dinner place in the city. (Apparently they are open at lunch, but I haven't tried that yet.)
Great service and the food never disappoints. Our waiter was unbelievably pleasant. Just the right amount of attention without being annoying but always there. A favorite!
Parfait, comme d'habitude. The seafood risotto is generous (salmon, catch of the day, shrimp, calamari, mussels), extremely flavorful, and rich without being heavy. Service I'd as impeccable as ever, from the personable and knowledgeable bartender Michael to the fabulously friendly and enthusiastic manager Annie. Everyone from the valet to the hostess to the commis de salle is professional, courteous, caring and attentive. No wonder this is my favorite restaurant - the entire experience is as delicious as the cuisine. Merci!
From the moment we walked in we were treated with the greatest hospitality, the hostess was incredibly kind and ensured my friends birthday celebration was perfect! Our service and the entire meal (escargot, mussels, steak tartare and lemon tart) were exquisite. I especially liked the tequila strawberry cocktail (made to order - less sweet than normal) rose and Bordeaux Chardonnay. The wine list here is extensive and reasonably priced with something for everyone’s taste. I will definitely continue to go back!
I would recommend this place if you enjoy French food, it may not be as good as some other places I have been for the same price. That being said, their desserts are excellent
As good as always
Love Etoile. Especially their wild boar bolognese. Normally only served at lunch but ask your waiter to see if the chef will make it for you for dinner. Fantastic.
Always wonderful and delicious! Had an absolutely amazing lobster, grapefruit and avocado salad to start, followed by perfectly cooked halibut with ratatouille.
Everything was excellent as always. Annie, the hostess, is a true gem. Always alert to all her guests. The tartare de boeuf was excellent. The moules mariniere were a little strong but my husband loved them. Great neighborhood place.
Wonderful food! And great service
Fabulous food, wine and service- as always. Chef Phillipe and his staff create and serve immaculate dishes. One of our favorite dining venues in Houston!
My favorite neighborhood spot. Food is superb and service friendly and knowledgeable. They always welcome you like family. I love it!
Construction in the immediate area of the restaurant makes self-parking somewhat difficult, but the food and service are worth tipping the valet for parking your car.
Our group of four enjoyed appetizers of Steak Tartare, Escargots Bourguignonne, and Soupe a l'Oignon. Entrees included the Sole Amandine, a roasted Salmon, and another fish dish. While Adnan, our server, had provided excellent service, Didi came by to suggest a wine for us, and he picked a wonderful Burgundy, but he's never recommended anything but wonderful wines for us--he knows his wines! Our only disappointment on this visit was that the restaurant had sold out of mussels just before we arrived.
I really like that place. It reminds me of some small restaurants of France. Elegant, clean, excellent service, nice atmosphere but above all, good food. We can feel the love of the cook in the food preparation that we eat.
Well, what else can I say? Oh yes, that I recommend this French restaurant.
My several experiences were for lunch only but I am sure that dinner should even be greater...
This restaurant is so incredible!
This is some of the best service that I️ have had in a restaurant in a long time. All the staff with whom we interacted were excellent!
Some things on the menu are good, but a few of the classics need work. The Coq Au Vin needs the wine to be cooked down a bit more to soften the bitterness of the alcohol in the wine. The best Coq Au Vin in town was at Max & Julie's which unfortunately closed down. You guys need to track down the chef from there and add him/her to your staff.
The mushroom-leek soup is a sure winner and should be a regular item on the menu along with Soufflés.
The food was excellent - wonderful snapper. Service was also very good with timings to suit requirements - not too rushed but if you wanted a quick meal you could have had it. Extensive and extremely well-chosen wine list with some hidden gems. Overall an extremely proficient and professionally-run restaurant.
