Escena Lounge & Grill
I never tire of sitting at an outside table at Escena, and gazing at the beautiful mountain landscpe. I've never thought of this restaurant as highly gourmet, but usually good enough for lunch. This time I was disappointed, with a thoroughly tasteless chicken cutlet sandwich.
We ate outside on a warm autumn evening with a view of San Jacinto mountains. The ambiance, service, food quality, value were perfect! Thanks Erie to place for an outside evening dinner in Palm Springs.
Continues to be one of our favorites (and increasingly discovered by visitors and locals, alike). Primarily an outdoor “country club grill” (though indoor dining is available, when Covid-restrictions permit), Escena has all of the grace and none of the boring stuffiness that characterize many of the golf clubs in the area. A dramatic setting, an excellent (and quite value-priced) menu, and delightfully served. These are reasons why we (and many others) frequently patronize Escena Lounge & Grill
Sterile but passable - view is fabulous; service is fine; food is decent but uneven.
Skinny salmon slice in salmon salad was cooked to eventual flavor and consistency of shoe leather. On another visit, for breakfast, bacon more or less reduced to charcoal, pressed flat as a burnt postcard...... Still, there is that view. And outside deck is well arranged for excellent social distancing.
Always such a treat to have a nice reasonably priced meal with world class views. Took my sister and bro-in-law for lunch and they couldn't believe how beautiful Palm Springs was sitting having lunch taking in our beautiful mountain views from the clubhouse! Perfection!
We ate inside, at a table socially distanced from the others in the room. It was quiet, peaceful and romantic, actually. We had hoped to be outside, but the wind was strong and most tables were already occupied. Inside turned out to be great! Overall, it was a very good choice.
The three of us had a good time. Two friends from the coast thought it felt like Hawaii with the breeze. It seemed all safe with a nice group of dinners, but distanced and the wind helped. I wish they had a steak on the menu. My friends ordered sliders and wings that we split. They were very good. I had the cobb salad which was good as well.
Great food, great service, and great view... all in a very gracious package. We are always happy to visit Escena Lounge & Grill, and we do so as often as we can. VERY reasonable prices, especially considering the somewhat upscale vibe.
This visit was wonderful as expected like all the other dining times I’ve had here. Last week was off I’m glad it was only a one time occurrence. Good job service was awesome.
I have dined here several times. However this time it seemed as if they were understaffed and the regular cook phoned in sick. Eggs Benedict overcooked hard yolks, bacon uncured and tasteless. Menu print very small . All past experiences were much better. Quality or grade of food seemed slightly substandard from previous dining experiences I have enjoyed here. I feel they could charge more and provide better quality and the clientele would support it.
Lovely view of the mountains, the fairways and planes landing and taking off....perfect setting for a reunion lunch
Had a late breakfast with a couple of friends very enjoyable everything was great
Nice place for breakfast - reasonable prices and good food - best Hollandaise sauce so far that I have had in the valley and the biggest portions of smoked salmon you have ever seen!
Outdoor dining only. It was 104 outside so it was doable with the misters.
The scenery was beautiful and the food was great! Not much more we could want.
The view is magnificent and the service and food were outstanding but they did not have the misters on and would not turn them on and, with only having outdoor dining, the heat made it somewhat miserable.
A nice place for lunch during Covid. It was a super hot day but the overhang and misters kept us cool.
Lunch was enjoyable on the patio. I felt that the staff had all of our health in mind as they took great care of us from 6’ away, wearing masks and gloves. The food was decent, the staff and golf course views were wonderful!
Continues to be one of our go-to favorites. Simple, light menu (love the salads!), casually elegant surroundings, professional and warm staff. We love it/1
Great all around! You won’t be disappointed!
Great menu, great food, great service, and great view! Has become one of our "go-to" favorites, and for very good reason! Casual, relaxed, away from the zaniness of Palm Springs (which is often, but not always welcome... sometimes, one simply wants a good meal at a good price with a beautiful view of the valley and mountains and no hustle, bustle, or stress... this is the place!).
Can't beat the view from the patio, but the wonderful experience does not end there. Service & food rank right up there to make Escena the perfect spot for lunch. With their covered patio, misters and fans, the near 120 temperature didn't stand a chance to dampen our fun.
During COVID, I've eaten on the patio twice for lunch. The staff does a very good job a minding the appropriate protocols. The food is always dependable, if not very inspired. The views of the course and mountains is lovely. Truly an excellent go-to in Palm Springs.
If you're a reader of Open Table reviews, as you make your dining choices, you may see multiple reviews by me of Escena Lounge & Grill. Regardless of the establishment, each dining experience is a unique one, due to a nearly endless combinations of variables (time of day, other diners, overall "buzz" of a restaurant, the mood of any and many at each moment, etc.). Given that I so heavily rely on reviews of other Open Table diners (I have never found any other platform to be as informative or reliable), I tend to offer a review after nearly every dining experience... even if that results in multiple reviews over a short period of time.
We are pleased that we discovered Escena Lounge & Grill, not only because it is relatively proximate to our house (lots of places are, and many are even closer), but also the casual informality, yet graceful familiarity, that permeates the establishment. The facility is beautiful, it is impeccably clean (and visibly takes exceptional precautions against Covid concerns), the staff is very friendly, yet quite professional, and more... The current menu is limited, but it is also more than sufficient. We've never been disappointed, regardless of seeking breakfast, a pleasant lunch, or a more substantial dinner. With a huge, shaded patio that overlooks the mountains surrounding Palm Springs and the rest of the Coachella Valley, "gazing toward the horizon" is something that I've observed appeals to all diners.
During the evenings, we've observed diners in shorts, polo shirts, and casual shoes; I suspect there is no "dress code" (except for common sense). However, we'v also observed folks "dressed up" to enjoy an anniversary or other celebratory meal -- and nobody seems out of place. "Country club grille" is the feel, and it always feels good to be at Escena!
fantastic view, good food, but for our first experience the costumer service was poor, every time we need assist with anything we were waiting 10 or 15 minutes, inclusive we wait long time for napkins and utensils.
Loved it. Felt that the service could have been a bit sharper but overall everyone was nice and the food was too.
Escena is great during the pandemic because there is plenty of room in between the tables and it's outside. Highly recommended.
Thank you love you guys
What a perfect lunch spot. Gorgeous views, delicious food, reasonable prices, great staff and super comfortable in these times of covid. Tables very far apart, staff fully masked and with gloves.
We were socially distancing outside. Overlooking a lovely golf course helped. Almost felt like nothing was different.
This dining spot is a gem. Service is great, decor is pleasant, and the food is delicious -- ALL at a reasonable price. Parking is easy. Not too far from downtown Palm Springs, it's a world away, in terms of the unrestricted views of the scenic beauty, engulfed in the calm that the desert can provide. Our server, "Cesar M," ensured that our meal was delightful. Note - please check their hours; like most other restaurants in the area, they're a bit limited, these days.
Stunning location and views, excellent and quick service, always great food! One of my favorite restaurants in the valley.
Love this restaurant & thank goodness for the outdoor patio area w/well spaced tables to allow social distancing. Excellent service always, good food & beautiful views of the Palm Springs area & the mountains.
This is an excellent establishment with casual grace, great service, delicious food, reasonable prices, and clearly practicing the safest Covid protocols. The setting is beautiful, as well, and we are very keen to return early and often. VERY professional staff!
Excellent service and a beautiful view
patio furniture is getting old. staff are brisk, rushing and not very personable- Escena has never had ‘great’ service staff.
Breakfast was cold! We ordered pancakes and they were stale. French toast could’ve been great if they were hot! There were only 6 people dining and the service was poor. Dead bugs under the chairs! Such a beautiful place and the views were amazing -
Need to bring food and service up a few notches!!
Lovely time to share with friends.
Go early and sit outside where fans dnd misters are going!
Food was good, service was a little slow, but during Covid days that could just be a temporary situation.
