2 year delayed 50th birthday celebrations for two best friends and it couldn’t have been better. We both had the chef tasting menu. Mine was the vegetarian tasting menu and my friend had the chefs tasting.
Hands done the best fine dining experience I’ve had as a vegetarian. Typically I prefer to go to ethic restaurants to get a flavor variety.
At EmerIl’s had the full experience and every dish was full of amazing flavor. Pricey but worth every penny for this celebration.

The five course tasting menu was a wonderful selection of unique dishes and combinations of food. The wait staff was beyond attentive and friendly. The sommelier explained each wine and why it was chosen. It was a wonderful gastronomic experience.
As always the food was excellent but what really sets Emeril's apart is the outstanding service. Although the restaurant had recently re-opened the staff was focused on customer service as if each had been there for a decade.
The tasting menu was sublime! I love fine dining and I am fortunate enough to be able to do it fairly regularly. This meal was one of the best I have ever experienced. Truly! Service was perfection as well. I will be spreading the word!

Loved our experience at Emeril’s! The service was out of this world - like the fine restaurants in New York. And Emeril was in the kitchen the night we were there. The food experience was fantastic - both the tasting menu and the menu. We would most definitely go back.
My wife and I both did the chef’s tasting. She had the vegetarian and I had the regular with the wine pairing. All of the dishes were excellent and we would definitely do it again. The wine selection and pairings were spot on and complimented each dish nicely.

Very disappointed after having heard raving reviews from friends who had visited years ago.
We chose the scallop hot appetizer and the red grouper as our main corses. Both were very bland and tasteless.
Ordered a Tito martini, no vermouth no garnish. Was served with a twist of lemon. When I commented that it was to be without garnish they took the drink to the bar, removed the twist and reserved it!!! I had to send it back again, the smell of lemon was profuse.
Dining at G W Finns spoiled us. Emeril’s can’t compare
We ended our week of NOLA holiday with a dinner at Emeril's. We've been to Emeril's for decades and was excited to have a great meal. The service was exemplary and the ambiance as usual was wonderful. The amuse bouche were great as were our appetizers. We splurged and got the white truffle supplement with the wagyu filet. It arrived with an already shaved small amount of white truffles that had no nose nor flavor, which I've never encountered over many years of various truffle tastings. The black garlic bordelaise sauce with the dish was quite good. For a $100 upcharge for the truffles I expected more. The duck entree however was excellent and the banana cream pie was OK with minimal essence of banana.
Enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner at Emeril’s. The service was exceptionally attentive and friendly—Billy and Blaine were terrific.

The bbq shrimp appetizer was great . The Emeril’s salad was disappointing ..pedestrian at best.
The bread and corn bread brought to the table was also disappointing. They both were dry and tasteless. They can and should do better. The biscuit brought with the bbq shrimp was wonderful and set the expectation
for the bread.
The canapés presented before the meal got mixed reviews. I liked the steak tartar, the seafood and the mushroom soup. I thought they were great.
My wife didn’t like it at all.
The pork was done to perfection. The mole sauce, and avocado tamarind were outstanding as were the sweet potatoes with the pork. Simply perfect and generous.
The wagyu steak with potato purée & bone marrow bordelaise was also perfectly cooked.
The kids got the ice cream dessert. All three scoops were great. Gingerbread and bourbon vanilla.
Great Truffle, mint of some sort and a custard demi dessert.

Frankly, I was impressed and why I picked Emeril’s. “Finally” I thought someone wants to have a true grand restaurant..a place to go and be dressed up..a destination.

I don’t like the limited main menu. It lacks the items available on the tasting menu. The lack of choice seems a money grab -which should not be at a grand restaurant.
Not having a gumbo or soup option in NOLA at a place that credits it’s start in La is unfair.
I’m ok w paying for perfection. $250 for taste menu of 10 items or 5 items on the main menu w 3 cold or 3 hot aptzrs-none of them a soup or gumbo..in La? Who comes to La for the pork or steak? BAM gotta have gumbo on the menu in La!

First of all , I have always loved Emerils . I am a native New Orleanian, and always frequent it . They re-opened recently and I made reservation for my birthday. When I looked at the menu online , it had totally changed- pretty much all the favorites were gone! I called them and asked them about this on the morning of my reservation, I was assured that the traditional menus were still being used as well as the new ones - so we went . When we got there , I ordered a glass of Chardonnay ( which was warm -not chilled 20 dollars and my husband ordered a drink. We were given the menus and it was the new menu - none of the old favorites. We asked for the regular menu and was told that this was the only menu . I advised them that I was told that they had a regular menu also. Nope! We had our drinks and left - went to Desi Vegas for a delicious birthday meal. The point is, they were not very gracious in acknowledging their misguided information and was left with a rather unpleasant experience. It was a real disappointment.
I think it is sufficient to say that Emerils is a great place to go if you have some cash burning a hole in your pocket and you aren't looking for anything too exciting. That is to say that the food was well prepared and presented beautifully and did taste wonderful, I suppose we were just expecting something else and there is nothing the restaurant can do about peoples preconceved expectations. The service for the most part is excellent. We had a slightly surly server who seemed distracted; but, otherwise the service was the best part of the meal.We did have a allergen scare with a member of our group who has celiac's disease; however, the staff immediately realized their mistake, swooped in, and removed the plate immediately and apologized. The rest of the meal was a bit stressful waiting to see if our friend was going to have a reaction or not. EJ Lagasse came out and apologized to the table on behalf of his father, it wasn't necessary but very nice and appreciated.

Never have I been as disappointed in a menu and meal as I was with Emerils last night. Being a regular at the many fine dining choices in New Orleans I selected Emerils for what used to be a “go to” for consistently great New Orleans food. The menu changed post Covid into an unrecognizable selection of tiny portions intended to help the guests to enjoy the full spectrum of tastes that were offered. Well, the food not only missed that mark but sent us home looking for something to eat when we returned. We left hangry. The food was flavorless and underwhelming. The idea of small portions buildings an image of the dish in the visitor’s mind as something special has to deliver extraordinary flavors. It did not.
It was an embarrassment for our out of town guests as we had built it up to be one of the best in Nola. It is a shadow of its former self.
What a shame that I will never be able to frequent what used to be one of New Orleans favorites. No wonder it was the only place that I could get a last minute reservation.

Cajun Crusted Salmon dish was the best Salmon dish that I have ever eaten. Fantastic.
We paid quite a bit for the chefs tasting and they ran out of the items we paid for! We would not have ordered what they substituted. The pacing of the 5 course meal was terrible. We would be rushed through a few courses and then would spend 20 minutes with nothing at the table just waiting for the next course. It was not an enjoyable 3 hour meal it was just a lot of waiting. Would not recommend.
This was a father-daughter Christmas dinner, and first time to dine at Emerils for my daughter. Amazing service from Mr Michael! The food was excellent. We had Emerils salad along with scallops and BBQ shrimp. Entree’s were pork loin and salmon followed by us sharing that wonderful banana pie!!! So glad to be able to dine here again and best wishes to the staff !!
We had a table overlooking the kitchen. It was amazing to see the kitchen staff work so calmly as the crowd grew. Our waiters were wonderful! They were friendly but professional. The food was delicious! The best part was Emeril was in the kitchen!

I had taken my granddaughter to New Orleans and wanted her to experience one of the better restaurants. I admit Emeril's wasn't my first choice. But because of the short notice it was one we could make reservations. We chose the tasting menu and that was an excellent choice. The tasting menu was superb. We're used to restaurants having trouble getting servers but the service that night was excellent. All in all, it was an excellent evening, and my granddaughter is very impressed with New Orleans.
