   This was our 1st visit to Ella's, but not our last. The noise level was a little high due to a table of 6 next to us. However, that was easy to overlook. The food was excellent. The wine list (a book) was extensive and pricy, but great wines. The service was outstanding. Kayla, our server, was awesome. No rush with dinner. We spent almost 3 hours enjoying our meal. It was an expensive evening, but well worth it for a special occasion.

   Our first time dining at Ella. Food was delicious. Service was slow. Waited 20 minutes after finishing our meal for service. Our waiter seemed more concern to bus a table from an office party.

   Ella Dining Room continues to execute at a high level both at lunch and dinner. Their happy Hour is fresh-exciting- and reasonable priced. We enjoyed a pre theatre dinner with sufficient time to walk over. Both the food quality and service were excellent and we were pleased to see a great crowd. If you are going to a King's game or theatre Ella is a MUST!

   Absolutely excellent food and service, but the very worst Grey Goose martini I have ever had….may have been the olives or poor vermouth. I should have said something but didn’t even when our waitress asked if it was okay so it’s really on me. I’m sure they would have fixed it …..still one of the best restaurants in Sacramento.

    I asked for all white meat on my order of fried chicken. The chef said no which kinda sucks since the dish was close to $50. When I received the order it was mostly dark meat so I left hungry. I was a bit disappointed.

    We came in wanting to try everything, but like most people, your stomach can only hold so much. The couple in my party started with some wine and the house gin and tonic, which they said was so refreshing! We started with the oysters, which were just okay to me. But I prefer Pacific oysters and these were from the east. The ramekin of mini pickles with the oysters, though…now these were delicious! And I don’t like pickles. We ordered the bone marrow dish, which was the only thing I was disappointed in, not because it didn’t taste good but because we only got one good bite out of it and two lesser pieces, which I understand because bone marrow is more of a delicacy and doesn’t come with much in a serving. I am happy to have tried it, but would rather spend the money on another order of the pork belly appetizer! Oh my goodness, this was SO GOOD! The sourdough bread slices that came out were satisfying after I smothered hem in the heavenly butter. I noticed the chef likes to lightly sprinkle salt flakes over most dishes, and this really added to the flavors in your mouth. Excellent touch! We ordered the sea bass, the mushroom risotto and the scallops. The sea bass I only tried a bite of and I didn’t get to taste the brussels sprouts, but what I had was really good and the person who ordered it loved his choice. Another person ordered the truffle mushroom risotto. I was scared to order this because truffle can often be overpowering and I didn’t want it to ruin my dish, but after tasting the dish, I wish I would have ordered it! Luckily she wasn’t able to finish the plate and I was able to have a side portion of it. They used different mushrooms and textures throughout the dish. It was so good! We almost said it was too rich to have as a full meal, but we said that while licking the plate. I ordered the scallops and my goodness, these were AMAZING! The salsify purée with the scallop bite was unbelievable. Out of room - texture, presentation, taste! WILL BE BACK

    Great menu and location. The table server was great. We were very disappointed with the inflexibility of the hostess and then the manager that the hostess referred me to. We had two reservations at the same time, one for four and one for three. Even though we presented another group willing to switch tables with us, the manager and hostess insisted they could not and would not make the move. I had even come in 3 hours early to see if they could make any adjustment to at least have us near each other. The opposite occurred, we were as far away as you could possibly be, completely around the corner and out of sight They have the most flexible furniture of any restaurant I have seen (all movable two tops), but if I was the owner who paid for the flexible furniture but hire inflexible employees, I would not be happy. We were not pleased as guests that is for sure. When we asked the Hyatt for restaurant recommendations near by, even though this is right across the street from the Hyatt, it was not on their list. Maybe we found out why it was not recommended. This is clearly correctable, so hopefully the owner will help them improve their service and earn the recommendation of their neighbor.

    Lunch order took a very long time to come out, about 50 minutes if not longer. Food was good but not amazing. I was pleased to see more vegetarian options on the lunch menu beyond salads. Nice spot for a business lunch provided you’re not in a time crunch.

    Food was excellent and the home made tonic for the mixed drinks is a favorite for me. Noise level was high as the place was full on a Saturday night and made it difficult to talk across the table. Our waiter was good and knew the foods but a little distracted. He left the table twice when I had asked for food info and didn’t return until I flagged him down, which delayed an appetizer being ordered in a timely fashion. His backup help were quiet, efficient and on top of it. The menu online didn’t show the couple of substitutions that were on the menu in the restaurant but all the food was delicious and served hot. Wine by the glass were pricey and seemed a little skimpy compared to other similar eateries. Had noted on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. This information was not shared with our waiter as he was surprised when I mentioned it as we were ordering desert. Overall great meal but not exceptional service considering the reputation of Ella’s.

    It was my friend’s birthday dinner and we were so excited to try this place since it is so highly rated but we were so disappointed. The host was nice but right when we sat down the waiter was already greeting us like we were a nuissance. They judged a book by its cover for sure as we are a group of 23-26 year olds and he thought we were not going to rack up a tab to tip him. We just started off with waters as their alcohol list was extensive so we wanted a minute to look and then we ordered shots and usually when you order a round, every other place I have gone gives everyone their own chasers not just onw tiny one for all the shots. Once we ordered appitizers, a dozen oysters, is when I think it clicked that we did have money to spend and maybe he should actually treat us like everyone else. He made us feel small and wasnt very friendly, I put in the reservation notes that it was my friends birthday and he brought his other table an ice cream with a candle, as many other waiters did for their birthday guests but for us, I had to ask for a candle after we ordered dessert. We were not rude at all to him, but very much annoyed because he was not patient with us and was so dismissal. He ruined the experience to be honest. The oysters were amazing, the sides also bomb! Would not recommend to anyone who looks young because if you get that waiter, he’ll make dinner not pleasant.

    I made a reservation for my parents for a date night. I included in the reservation notes that my mom is gluten intolerant. Their server made sure to let her know that the kitchen was aware of her allergy and substituted gluten free crackers on their cheese board. I was told that the service and food were both excellent. And my mom wasn’t afraid that she might accidentally consume gluten which made the experience very enjoyable.

    Food was amazing. Ordered the scallops but found the cream sauce over powered the caviar and scallops. The scallops was cooked to perfection. I also ordered the Sable fish. The fish was absolutely amazing. The skin was perfectly crispy and the meat was tender.

    Bryan C was a very knowledgeable server on everything from small plates to drink choices. We went with several of his recommendations and each was spot on. Citrus is in with the spring season so get in and try the citrus hamachi crudo while you can. I would love it even more if espresso martinis could make it on the menu.

    Restaurant was beautiful, service was great and the food was excellent. There was three of us dinning. Between the three of us, we ordered the Pork Belly, Butternut Squash Soup, and Mixed Green Salads to start. For our entrees we ordered two Sea Bass and one Beef Tenderloin, Crispy potatoes, Cauliflower and Brussels as sides. Everything was excellent and portions were reasonable.

    We had a party of six. Our bill at the end of the evening was 1100 with tip. Our service was attentive for the most part. The restaurant was very busy… it was 5 dollar wine Wednesday but that was not offered up to the group as an option, maybe it’s just at the bar? ( not why we went here, just received an email saying every Wed was this event). We had steaks, salmon and sea base? Cauliflower and Brussels sprouts and both were excellent. So great food, good service, nice setting but a bit loud, but we could still easily talk amount ourselves… over all a very nice dinner. They do offer valley parking … I parked at the city lot for 5 for the time at dinner with a short walk.

    Outstanding. The service, the quality, the timing, the ambiance met and exceeded expectations. My new favorite for celebrations. Our server Michael, was excellent. He was attentive upbeat and accommodating. Shane, the best sommelier ever elevated our culinary experience his wit, knowledge and kindness was above and beyond. If you want a true dining experience, if you are celebrating a milestone, or if you just want a really nice meal with significant friends or loved ones be confident with this choice. Also, for the spirits epicurean, Ella has a great bourbon flight and the best old fashioned I've had in California.

    I love Ella. Never a bad time and the food is amazing. Sharing food and wine with good friends is one of my favorite things to do. A special shout out to our server James. Probably the best service I have ever had at Ella. Never had to ask for anything because he and the other staff were already one step ahead. Will definitely be back. Thanks, Jason C

    Amazing experience as usual! My wife and I had a great time especially this Valentine’s Day. Food was impeccable! My wife’s favorite was the quail and mine was the lobster. Service is great as always with George and Zach.

    Overall, we had a great time. Just the food portions were a little too small my husband and my daughters boyfriend went home hungry. I know it was a prefixed menu but I wish they had more options in the prefixed menu. We love, Ella we will be back, but hopefully they can make these adjustments.

    The service was amazing! Roxanne was great. Appetizers and drinks were AWESOME, but we weren’t super impressed with the entrees. We got the risotto and the fried chicken and there wasn’t anything super special about either and they weren’t particularly warm (especially for the steep price tag). We wanted to get the lamb shank but they were out— so maybe better luck on entrees next time! This is a perfect place for drinks and small plates!

    We went a day early for Valentine’s Day. Our server said she initially didn’t know I was there, even though the hostess had seated me. She continued to act as if she didn’t know we were there throughout the meal. Our drinks weren’t offered a refill. It was not a busy day; it actually seemed slow. And it took a long time to bring our desserts. My husband actually left because it took so long; I stayed behind to get them. Our meals were good but more expensive than necessary. I ordered the sea bass. It was perfectly cooked and flavorful. My husband ordered the mushroom and truffle risotto. It was amazing. We plan to return to see if it was an off day and try other menu items. The food is well prepared with fresh ingredients and the presentation is beautiful, especially for the risotto. We sat outside which was perfect and not too noisy.

    Went to lunch for an early Valentine's Day thing with my wife. Recently my wife has gone vegan and nothing on the menu was vegan. She asked and the chef said he would make her something off menu. We had a nice quiet chat about our fun life together and then came her entrée. It was a wonderful dish with mushrooms and lots of other vegetable goodies. My seabass was excellent in its mustard sauce. I love this place!
