   We haven’t been to Ella‘s since before Covid, it was a Sacramento favorite for many years. When we went yesterday, there were a few things that were very disappointing. My husband ordered the halibut. The fish was great, but the greens that accompanied his dish were so salty he couldn’t eat them. Likewise, with the side order of brussels sprouts we barely touched them. Each of us had one bite as they were again way too salty I ordered the bone marrow appetizer, which is one of my favorite treats and not on many menus.  unfortunately, they put shredded oxtail or something like that all over the top which essentially obliterated the flavor of the bone marrow. I don’t think we’ll be going back to Ella‘s. That was our last time based upon our experience.

   Always a great meal at Ella’s and love to come here when we are in town visiting family. Great food and service.

   Fantastic all around. Have nothing negative to say. Loved the food and the service was top notch. I would totally return!

   conveniently located in the heart of downtown Sacramento. Valet parking is efficient and courteous. What makes Ella stand out is the food----fresh, creative, expertly prepared and most important---delicious. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and focused on giving their guests the best dining experience. I highly recommend Ella.

   The food and the drinks were spectacular. The bartender had a game on. Was more than we expected. No wonder it’s a Michelin star restaurant. Happy hour was top-notch and prices were reasonable.

   The food, and service was excellent. Apparently their fried chicken was how they received their Michelin, so we gave it a shot. It was pretty good. The halibut was amazing. All around, great experience.

   In the beginning, the background music was a little too loud. However, the manager responded in kind by lowering the volume to an acceptable level. Ever other services and cuisine was world class as the dining experience exceeded all my expectations

   First time at Ella. We had a pleasant evening. The vibe was good and the SERVICE was EXCELLENT!. The drinks , martini, dirty martini, Pina Verde served by the bar were definitely worth coming back for to try other cocktails. In house fresh baked bread. Oysters w/in house pickled radish , I thought it was tomato, and asparagus. Went well together. The fried chicken was cooked the way fried chicken should be cooked, savory, hint of rosemary served with the in-house hot sauce on the side and slices of lemon to drizzle. The braised lamb shank was succulent, rich in flavor and went well with the bleu cheese risotto . We will be back.

    Food was a little pricey, and dining room vs happy hour rule sucks. I guess you have to be one of their regulars to figure out how to cheat their game.
