   We arrived at the restaurant and the doors were locked and no one was inside at 5 pm on a Saturday. Used to love this place but now it appears they went bust

   Friendly service - wait staff and chef had a fine sense of humor. Great value for a meal of this quality.

   Fantastic all around. Wonderfully knowledgeable and friendly staff. ( both front and back of house) Exceptional food and service. Will be returning! :)

   First time dinner. Waitstaff was delightful, knowledgeable of menu items and helpful. Beautiful presentation, ample portions and delicious. Had some to take home and while not as pretty just as tasty the next day.

   We have had some great dinners at Elaine's. This evening we had tickets to a show at Popejoy, and they were overwhelmed by customers who were also going to the show. We sat for almost an hour and did not even receive our salad, so we left. I would definitely consider having dinner here again, but certainly not on a busy night where we had plans afterwards. The ratings for food are from previous visits, since we did not eat this visit.

   Our dinner was excellent - we started with mussels which were in a fantastic sauce in which I couldn't stop sopping up my bread. I had the hanger steak and frites - outstanding! The meat was tender, the spinach was very fresh, and the frites were divine. My husband had the halibut which he said was equally excellent. Elaine's new chef is a gem! I highly recommend this restaurant.

   I hate to be the person who complains but our experience Friday night was awful. After being seated it took ten minutes before someone brought us water. The restaurant was about 40% full and it was another 10 minutes before our waiter appeared and took our drink order. We ordered a cheese plate appetizer that was ok. Would have been nice to know what we were eating, a server dropped it at our table with no explanation. When it was time to order we asked what the Chefs soup was (the only soup on the menu) and were told that they had run out. It was about 7:00. Who runs out of soup on a Friday night at 7:00?? Our waiter then went on and on about how good it was and how it was prepared. Why!?! We can’t have any!! As we ordered our main courses we were given a list of all the dishes they didn’t have that night which made ordering frustrating. It then took forever to get our food (about 50 minutes). When our food arrived it was clear that they were out of more ingredients than we had been told. Several substitutions had been made to our dishes making what we ordered entirely different from we expected. Instead of candied fruit in a salad they substituted steamed tomatoes. Instead of seasonal vegetables with my steak I got a pile of raw spinach. It was bizarre, cheap, and disappointing. Overall I’m not sure how they stay open. It was honestly the worst “fine dining” experience I’ve ever had and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

    Delicious food but cold (literally) atmosphere ; servers were trying but food took FOREVER even the cheese tray and dessert. And no more mini sopapillas :( seems like the management has changed for the worse
