You don’t need to cross the Pacific to get a taste of Hawaii. Duke’s La Jolla is San Diego’s island-inspired home, honoring the Ambassador of Aloha, Duke Kahanamoku, with coastal cuisine of Hawaii, craft cocktails and a genuine spirit of aloha. It’s the same authentic hospitality and panoramic ocean view that you’ll find at all of the California and Hawaii Duke’s restaurants, paying tribute to the Duke and welcoming you to celebrate life like the legend himself.

Our birthday reservation request for a ocean view was not applied, so we had to wait for a table, but it was worth the wait! The food was very good as well as the service. We will be back.
great food, good selection on lunch menu, perfect location to enjoy all the reasons we live in San Diego
It was our first visit to Dukes for my birthday. Everything was perfect! The Hula pie is fantastic.
It was a lovely restaurant, and the staff was very nice. However, the food was too salty. Mine and my fiancé’s. For me to say that is bad because I love salt. Not completely inedible, but my fingers did swell afterwards. We would still go back to eat though!
There isn’t a better place to enjoy the views of La Jolla Cove. Reasonably priced menu, great service, and the tropical ambiance makes you feel like you're in Hawaii. One of our favorite restaurants in San Diego!
If I could give the service 10 stars, I would. Food was delicious and location is beautiful.
6th anniversary wedding for my kid’s
My husband had the Mahi tuna dish and I had the hot pot. It was our first experience at Duke's and we enjoyed our meal. The flavors were bursting with spices that our palets enjoyed. Will stop again once we are down in that area.
Had read it would be a great scene for the sun set but it actually was not at all. Nice view of the sea was beautiful.
Beautiful outdoor view patio sitting
It was great. However, it was a surprise luncheon. When I checked in, the hostess asked if was a party of 4!! And my wife was under the impression it was only 2 of us. I wanted to surprise her with the other two. Kinda spoiled the surprise, but it is what it is!
Otherwise, we had a great time and enjoyed the drinks and food!
Great food, great view, great service. Will be back for sure
Amazing service & awesome views... Food was delicious!
Truly outstanding food in a beautiful atmosphere overlooking La Jolla Cove. We ordered seafood appetizers and main course, and everything was wonderfully fresh and flavorful. The Hula Pie dessert deserves its fame, and is more than enough for two. In fact, I can imagine going to Duke's just for hula pie and coffee after a night at the movies once we can do that again.
Speaking of which, their COVID-19 protocols are thorough but don't intrude upon the dining experience. If anything, the extra space between tables provides a more comfortable experience. And the patio is well equipped with heaters to ensure that even on a chilly night it stays comfortable outside.
We have been to Dukes several times and have always had a great experience! We have also been to Dukes in Hawaii as well with the same great experience!
What a wonderful way to spend Valentine’s Day. Has the chicken Katsu and ribs with chicken and everything was so delicious and just melted in your mouth. And the staff was super nice as welcoming.
It was our first night in SAn Diego. Open door website did not say outside dining only. Mgr was not rude just not accommodating. We have been to other Duke’s that were a much better experience.
We love Duke’s! The huge outdoor patio is great with nice warm heaters and a beautiful view.. The Ono was incredible and so were the the fish tacos. We highly recommend it. (Sierra was a great server as well).
Amazing experience and amazing waiter
Wonderful everything!! We will be back! We absolute loved our table with the view!
Great time. Friendly staff and fresh fish!
We went to Duke’s for our anniversary and were disappointed when we weren’t sat at a table closer to the overlook of La Jolla Cove but rather much further back
The food was amazing and the service was immaculate. The view was probably the best part abt my dining experience!
The food and service was perfect! I thought it was going to be a zoo in Valentine’s Day but they handled the crowd perfectly. I will return often. This is definitely a special occasion location!
Food was great and our server was so friendly! Perfect for my first meal out since Covid.
Came here for Valentine’s weekend- great view, and great service
never disappoints great valentines lunch service as usually great and clear sunny day at the cove
Everything was really good. Enjoyed the patio and view. Hula pie hit the spot for dessert.
Delicious! It was good to finally have a meal out after so much time and Dukes did not disappoint. We watched with sunset and drank mai tais along with a yummy dinner. I had the seared Ahi and the fish was very fresh. Would go back again soon.
We love Duke's for special occasions and it never disappoints!
My server was wonderful! The view was incredible! Highly recommend!
OMG! The mahi Mac not encrusted lunch was amazing. Everyone loved their meals. Especially the kids. Service was fantastic as usual. So glad Dukes is back open! Thank you!
Dinner was delicious, service was excellent, and the alcoholic lemonade drink was fantastic!
My daughter were in San Diego to tour a college which she committed to and it was her 18th birthday so we had lunch at Dukes to celebrate the special day. We were seated overlooking the ocean and the views were incredible. She had a pulled pork sandwich she said was one of the best sandwiches she’s ever had. I had yummy fish tacos. They brought her an incredible cake with a candle for her birthday. Outside seating was spaced well plus there were heaters not that it was cold compared to PA where we are from. We will return on our next of many trips back to CA!
No regrets for first time dinning here! The food are very affordable and delicious! Plus factor loved the amazing view. We will definitely come back!
Awesome food, spectacular view, and outstanding service. Made my friends birthday celebration extra special. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back again soon.
