              We dined here with a friend of ours from out of state, and Duke's never disappoints! The calamari and wonton appetizers we amazing, the chef special for the night was to die for, and the seared scallops were so tender our plates were clean! Not to mention our server was so polite and personable it made the experience so much better. Will definitely be back!

              As always, food is consistently good. Service is courteous. A lot of larger and louder parties when we were there (not usually the case). Enjoyable dinner.

              We had a great lunch at Duke's La Jolla. We were celebrating our daughter's graduation and our server went out of his way to make it a special celebration for her. We were a large party but our server was very attentive and our food came out quickly. He was great with recommendations too as this was our first time dining there. The clear favorite among the group was the fish tacos but we also thoroughly enjoyed the fresh fish (mahi mahi) and the fish tacos. My son also enjoyed the kalua pork sandwich. We did request a table with a great view which they were not able to accommodate (bummer) but overall it was a great dining experience and we will definitely be back.

              I’ve been wanting to go to Dukes, but the times we’ve been in the area-it’s packed. Our godson is in town, and I thought of Dukes. I made reservations for dinner but we were early, so we went upstairs for Happy Hour/Taco Tuesday. There was live music-a young lady singing-sounded great!!! Fish tacos & ceviche were good. My husband said his Moscow mule was very good. We ended the evening with the Hula Pie-also good-who can mess up an ice cream pie! Service was great!!!

              Food & drinks were excellent. Everyone was kind. Only thing that was a miss was requesting an oceanfront table in the reservation for a special occasion and it not being acknowledged at check in. It's understandable if it can't be accommodated or will be a longer wait, but for me to have to ask about it when we're brought to a non view table, after already being seated late, wasn't a great experience.

              We used to love going to Dukes. This is the second time we have gone and been disappointed in the quality of the food. This time I had the Eggs Benedict, and the egg yolks were hard, unfortunately this wasn't the first time. The eggs look poached, but they were like hard boiled eggs once we cut into it. The Buttermilk biscuits was very dry as was the ham. This was a disappointment, especially that it has happened before. I wanted to give a chance, but it failed. My guest with me had the Coconut Crusted French Toast. She did not like it; I tried it and felt the same about it. It really lacked any flavor; the only flavor we got was from the syrup we dipped it into. Dukes has always been our go to when guests come to visit us in San Diego, unfortunately this will now be our not to go to. The service was great, and the restaurant was clean, the atmosphere has always been pleasant. (just be aware, the Sea Lions have established home near Dukes and the smell from them can be a bit overwhelming at first. You can't hold that against Dukes, there's nothing Dukes can do about that)
