   Maddie was the best server! She made us feel so welcomed and taken care of from the moment we sat down. The food was absolutely delicious—everything from start to finish was perfect. We’ll definitely be back!

   Normally, I would rate higher, but our experience yesterday wasn’t that good for me. It won’t prevent me from coming again. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was delicious. It usually comes with a side of french fries that are very good. However, this time the fries were lousy. They were cold, tasted stale, and were small and overcooked. I should’ve sent them back.

   It was a holiday weekend, yet as busy as they were they accommodated our request for an outside table. the service was excellent. The food was very good if a little over salted, but the noise level inside was intolerable. Also, the music was very loud. The staff was excellent young, enthusiastic and helpful We usually go to the Malibu location, now closed due to damage as a result of the Palisades fire. they plan on reopening soon and we wanted to support them in La Jolla.

   I was shocked how disgusting the bathrooms were for the quality of the restaurant. I haven’t experienced a as bad of a dirty bathroom than my college days.

   My wife and I had an incredible dinner last night at Duke’s in La Jolla Beach. From the moment we arrived, everything was just right. The restaurant is right on the beach, and the ocean views made the evening feel extra special. The food was absolutely delicious — every bite was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The ambiance was relaxed yet lively, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. Everyone we interacted with was kind, attentive, and welcoming. We left feeling full, happy, and grateful for such a memorable night. Duke’s is the kind of place we’d recommend in a heartbeat and can’t wait to return to. A true gem by the sea.

    Great experience! Noted that it was my husbands birthday and they sat us at the best seat with the best view, had a nice card for him, and gave him a free hula pie. Waitress was nice and attentive. Will be back!
