Duke's La Jolla
You don’t need to cross the Pacific to get a taste of Hawaii. Duke’s La Jolla is San Diego’s island-inspired home, honoring the Ambassador of Aloha, Duke Kahanamoku, with coastal cuisine of Hawaii, craft cocktails and a genuine spirit of aloha. It’s the same authentic hospitality and panoramic ocean view that you’ll find at all of the California and Hawaii Duke’s restaurants, paying tribute to the Duke and welcoming you to celebrate life like the legend himself.

I’ve been to Dukes, Jakes, etc many times and I only need to do one more before I have visited all of them. Dukes La Jolla was fair. I would rate all the others I visited Good. I won’t be going back at this Dukes when there are so many better restaurants around. Jen ,our sever, was nice and efficient. My friend had a vegetarian burger and said it was without any taste. I had the Macadamia Nut crusted fish. It was not cooked very well.
Service was great. Employees are cheerful and helpful. Cool setting, great food and great drinks.
Amazing as always! Great staff, great food, incredible views!
Went for lunch. Food was very good and views were amazing! Nice La Jolla experience.
Definitely recommend beautiful views
Great food wonderful service
Great experience celebrating our anniversary. Food and service was awesome. A little pricey, but had a good time
thank you. great table
We made reservations and the table was ready when we arrived. The service was prompt and attentive. The portions were generous and everything was well-prepared and delicious. The setting outside was lovely and we had a view of the ocean even without sitting near the edge.
Amazing service! Felt very comfortable dining there with kids. Loved the ambiance and the food.
Excellent food and Service overlooking La Jolla bay.
Is not like the Dukes in Huntington’s at all !
We had a wonderful evening celebrating my birthday! Duke’s made me feel extra special with a personalized birthday card and a complimentary dessert! My husband and I shared the Hulu pie which was delicious! The view was incredible! We will definitely be back! Thanks, Duke’s!!!
Restaurant does not give you the points for you OT reservation.
There are many other choices in the area and it was not a great dining experience. Choose wisely.
A perfect meal with great service and beautiful setting. Delicious. Can’t wait to dine again!
We had a great table outside and the heaters kept us warm. It was a perfect evening. The food was amazing, fresh, and fast.
Our first visit to this location. We’ve always been a fan of Duke’s in Waikiki, but moved away from Hawaii 7 years ago. We happened to be in LaJolla on vacation and grabbed a last minute reservation for lunch. It was a fantastic reminder of Hawaii- all we remembered it being too. Great food and fantastic service!
Have been at Duke's a few time now. The food is outstanding, staff friendly. Spirit of Aloha and Mahalo alive and well!
Food was great, service was great, ambiance was great, very satisfied
Really nice lunch at Dukes La Jolla today. We enjoyed the nicely prepared calamari starter, two delicious fish entrees, and the always outstanding hula pie. Jake was an attentive and excellent server. The whole experience was grand.
Booked a month in advance for a get together with friends…3,000 miles from home. My wife and I from Florida, our friends from Delaware. We wanted a great view of the ocean and a delicious seafood dinner. Dukes delivered on both accounts. The view was spectacular and the macadamia crusted sea bass was excellent. We’ll done Dukes.
While the views were remarkable and the food was delicious, our server, Michael, provided a “best-in-class” level of service to make my mother in laws 75th birthday one the we’ll remember!!! Michael is someone that represents the gold standard for taking care of his guests!!!
Always love going to Duke's - but very disappointed in our table - I reserved a
particular table - did not get it - we moved to a better one - and they said not possible so were seated at an OK table - for my friend's 95th birthday.
We sat overlooking the ocean and it was gorgeous. Jen was great, fun, and helpful! Seafood stew was delish! Tacos were slightly salty. Salads were awesome.
Amazing food - reasonable pricing - stunning view & the light show last night was spectacular!
The food at Duke’s is really good, but the service this visit wasn’t even half as good as the last time I was there. We had to ask the bartender at least three times for our check, and although I clearly let them know prior to AND when we got there that we were celebrating a birthday, we had to flat out tell our server to bring the birthday dessert out for our friend.
The food was AMAZING!!! Our server (Jonathan) was on point and made great recommendations. As you walk down the stairs to the lobby you feel yourself transported to Hawaii and makes you want to travel there. Did I mention the food was amazing? We were there for restaurant week and enjoyed the ribs, the macadamia hummus, the shrimp and the ahi - we all ate the seared ahi and WOW!!! The hula pie was also a great way to end our meal. Can't wait to come back!
Excellent food with an amazing view. I recommend the hibiscus coconut mojito.
Love this restaurant. Staff is wonderful
Loved the view vibe and food great experience
What a great view from this restaurant!! And the food is great. Be sure to try to Hula Pie as well as the fresh fish from the menu.
No Aloha or Ohana vibes! Would come back thanks!!!
Awesome place …. nice view , luv the food plus free Hula Pie 🎂💜🎈 Moms bday 😘 . All the staff are very nice too .
Brought my girlfriend here and she loved all of it! They set us up right next to the edge of the terrace and the view was amazing! The macnut crusted mahi mahi and the furikake ahi steak were amazingly delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly too. Might just become our special date spot.
As always food outstanding. Service was particularly great with sever making suggestions. Love the poke tacos.
Myself and my husband went for a date night and it happened to be restaurant week. The food and atmosphere was great! We loved it and will definitely be going back. Our waitress was amazing too!
We enjoyed all the food we had at Dukes. It's an especially good deal during restaurant week, so look for that next year. The restaurant week menu includes lots of choices, and everything we had was great - coconut shrimp, hummus, macnut crusted mahi mahi, ahi steak, and of course, the hula pie (which appears to be a smaller portion for the restaurant week menu, but it's plenty large even so). The waiter was great and the setting is lovely (try to come at sunset). The only complaint was the food runner did not time things correctly and brought out our entrees before we had finished our appetizers. I hate that! We mentioned it to the waiter and he apologized and said he would remind the food runner to check the table before bringing the food. Looking forward to our next visit.
Great place for amazing drinks, food, and to enjoy the beautiful San Diego weather overlooking the La Jolla Shores.
Beautiful views, delicious food, the kindest staff. Definitely recommend!!
