We had a very nice family celebration at Duke's. The ambience and atmosphere are fun yet upscale. We enjoyed the patio dining. The high umbrellas were not intrusive but held the heat in from the many heaters around being a cool night. The food was delicious with good size portions. Our server was courteous, friendly, and flexible when a few of our party requested some changes to the way some items were supposed to be accompanied. The food took a little longer than we would have liked, but we sat down almost a half hour after our reservation time since some of our party were late. I would highly recommend Duke's.

We went to Dukes twice for my birthday and my husbands birthday as we are both November bdays. Enjoyed everything the day of my birthday so we decided to book two weeks later for his bday! I love dukes the food , service and ambiance. Beautiful views.

The ambiance was great. We were a group of 5, mix of family and friends, all under 30. It's a great place with good food, drinks, and views (all IG worthy). There's literally sea lions and seals on the beach your dining back drop! Within 4-5 mins of some very nice beaches. Moderately priced, but you can taste the freshness in every bite. Definitely coming back with just my gf to try more on the menu.

Our waiter was so nice! I wish we got his name. We ordered the coconut shrimp and the crab wontons for appetizers and the. Had the Rib/Chicken plate and the Macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi plate with a side salad. Everything tasted amazingly!

We arrived on a sunny Saturday for an 11:15 am reservation. The place was packed! Fortunately, Duke's was in the middle of a turnover of the breakfast crowd, and we were immediately seated at a table along the oceanfront. We ordered the Mac Crusted Mahi Mahi and a classic burger. Both were delicious! It was too early for drinks, although I'll be forever fond of the Lavender Colada from the past. Service was attentive and responsive to requests. Although the bill for two entrees amounted to over $50, it was worth it!

Our waiter was immaculate. We were blown away by the attentive and professional service provided to us. The drinks, appetizers, entrees, and dessert all came out in a timely manner. The view we had on the outdoor deck elevated the whole dining experience. Just wonderful.

Everything was great except for the scallops. We had them do a re-fire but they were still tuff to chew. They were so busy and behind we didn’t have the heart to say they were bad. The Macadamia crusted Mahi was very good as well as the Dukes grilled fish plate. The atmosphere was great!

Service was a bit slow. Food plates were nothing special, mahi mahi with poor description by server. Chicken and ribs were good. Salad had no dressing, macaroni salad was tasteless. Cost was a little high for the value

Our server, Shaun, was amazing and truly made our experience at Duke’s one to remember! It was my birthday brunch and I had such a great time. The seats we got were amazing, my friends and I got the most perfect view of La Jolla shores. The food and drinks was amazing as always. And the service was top tier. I’m definitely coming back and bringing more friends.

Service was attentive, we split a Caesar salad and it was a nice portion each for the hubby and me, and the entrees were prepared well and very tasty. Nice touch for dessert for my birthday; I had the key lime pie. I do have a suggestion though, please would add more space between tables, we were seated at the end table, in the second row closest to the plexiglass wall. Other than that, overall experience was positive.

Dukes La Jolla is always a beautiful evening with predictable and good tasting food. It would be nice to see Dukes bring back bread service. It seems this is one of the many areas where they co tinier to cut costs in a post pandemic time. Overall, very enjoyable.

Great location, great food. Tried a few of the appetisers and can recommend the tuna sashimi. Also ordered the tuna steak, but the sashimi is better. Crusted fish is a great choice. The wine from the barrel option is a great idea and would love to see more restaurants offer this. Went with the same desert everyone seems to order - Hula Pie - also did not disappoint. Will def go back.

Duke’s is a wonderful spot for my family and I. Not only do we love the food and drink offerings, the restaurant is loud enough to allow my two year old to be a two year old and not worry about her own personal volume being too much and ruining other’s dinner. The only complaint I would have is that the cost can and will jump up on you quickly here. It’s not a cheap night out but a special occasion dinner. Oh and the lack of parking there at Duke’s is a little bit of madness at times so don’t run late to get a spot.

We received a gift card which is why we went there. We had never thought of going even though we fly to Maui at least once a year. The ambiance was terrific inside and looking at the ocean is never a bad choice. The service was extremely warm and receptive and we felt the Aloha spirit. We ordered two appetizers and three entrees which gave us a good sampling of the menu. The hula pie was excellent. I had attempted two a few weeks ago but now that I have tried the real thing, I'm going to try again tomorrow. Thank you for a terrific lunch. We enjoyed every bite and every minute. We will be back!
