I love Duke’s. The food was really outstanding. It’s very quiet and unassuming. I like the Hawaiian music and ambiance. Definitely a spot I plan to come back to frequently.
Surprisingly fun atmosphere - reminded us a bit of Hawaii. Beautiful view and food was wonderful - fresh and delicious
Great food, outstanding view and superlative service.
Dukes is a great restaurant. We were disappointed in the selection of fish, mostly Mahi-mahi. No salmon or halibut.
Outstanding restaurant. Now my favorite. Food was so good and the ambiance was wonderful
Asked for bread service but when it arrived, we were not given any bread plates. Our dinner arrived before we were done with our salads. The waiter never once checked on us after we received our entrees. Our water glasses were never refilled. My husband's steak was not evenly cooked. My mahi mahi was excellent.
Great experience overall. Service was great, would definitely go back
We loved everything. Plus great value. We’ve been to the location in Maui and This was equally as good.
Service was great ! Thank you to everyone, especially Daisy!
The outdoor patio on a warm November afternoon was perfect for us. We enjoyed the view as well as really well prepared seafood. My wife enjoyed the mac-encrusted swordfish and my mahi tacos were exactly what I was looking forward to !! We enjoy Duke's in Maui and this location did not disappoint.
Fish cooked to perfection. Excellent value - great food at good prices, great service, and wonderful views.
Very enjoyable meal and great service
Could do more to make it family friendly (e.g. why are there no changing stations for babies in the men’s restrooms?)
Interesting and varied appetizers. I am very picky about fish, since I like to go fishing and know what itd supposed to taste like. We all had entrees of fish, which was very fresh and prepared deliciously.
Lovely dinner and service. Too bad we scheduled a late table and missed the amazing sunset....but Duke's did not disappoint. Our guest loved it too!
Great atmosphere. Amazing and fun service. Great food
Wonderful dinner..........crispy korean ribs terrific as were our entrees........swordfish and mahi mahi.
Ryan was an excellent waiter and the manager, Jack (?) , took the appetizer charge off our bill.....without being asked ! He wanted to show their appreciation for our admiring how the waitstaff acted as a great team helping out a new staff member. How amazing is that ! It was especially fun being there on Halloween because the entire staff dressed in costumes.
Everything was good except the food - I had the worst 'breakfast burrito' I've literally ever eaten in my life. (And I'm a San Diego native; I've had plenty of'em.)
Interesting touristy place. No Hawaiian food that I could discover, Heaters on balcony somehow don't cover the outdoor area :-(
I went to Dukes for a Sunday lunch with my family for my birthday. I had been to the Huntington Beach location before, so I was excited to find one in San Diego near my parents' house. My boyfriend and I split the Loco Moco and the Breakfast Burrito and they were both delicious! And my parents enjoyed their steak and fish dishes! Ambience was nice out in the patio. Our waitress was a bit bland, but overall we had a great time!
Tasty food, great freindly service and a comfortableand perfect table with fantastic views of the cove. Plenty of room between tables too!
Love Duke's. My wife and I had an outstanding experience, as usual. We've visited other locations before and have come to expect great service and excellent dishes.
We had a table overlooking the cove and it was beautiful. The wait staff and bar tender were very friendly and efficient.
I set a reservation 1 month in advance, when we got to the door we had to wait for 25 minutes (for 2 ppl). I requested to get a waterfront view which we were not given, we asked our server to be moved to the view once a table left and they said they could not do it because we should have waited at the front and let them know that we wanted the view. It was a beautiful restaurant but this was disappointing as I had booked reservations, and requested the view.
Great restaurant and it’s not just the view; great food ( try the calamari), great staff and great vibe!
Consistently good food and a gorgeous view of La Jolla Cove. Great ambiance and plenty of patio seating. Wait staff is always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. It is one of our favorite restaurants.
Too cold outside had to ask for heaters to be turned on
Great food, service and a killer view of the Pacific, especially at sunset. My expectations are always met or exceeded at Duke's.
Terrific food and service. Big fan of the poke tacos and the spicy ahi entree.
The view is of course terrific but the openness of the restaurant lets you feel like you’re on the patio even if you’re seated inside.
We’ll be back.
This was our fourth Duke’s location visit. Hope we can make it to all locations. Breathtaking view ~ Amazing swordfish with a Mac nut crust ~ Excellent service from Ryan! Another wonderful night at Duke’s!!
Great food, impressive setting
Great atmosphere, food, and ocean views!
Fantastic meal, location, and waterfront view. Nothing negative to say.
The ahi taco appetizers were great! Also loved the coconut shrimp, would highly recommend!
Beautiful views overlooking the water. Everyone from the hostess to the server were very nice and they do a great job making it a great experience for kids (coloring prizes, ice cream pie, searching game). The ahi dish we had was amazing. Very spicy but so good. A couple hiccups tho with the app not being brought and the wine being slow to come up brings it down a star for me.
The view from this restaurant if your lucky to get a good seat outside is gorgeous. Drinks are good, food is good. Our waitress was excellent!!!
The restaurant outdid itself yesterday in taking care of us. Fantastic table with a view! Great food and a wonderful birthday celebration! Thank you for making us so special! We will be back!
We have been to many Dukes.Starting with the original in Honolulu. They have maintained a high standard for the 30 years we have been going there. So we are well experienced to see the quality of La Jolla.
The design of the restaurant was modern and beautiful!!
The information on the history of Duke was important and relevant.
The dining areas were great, views and open air. The one disappointment was the bar. There was no ambiance and the service area was too close to the seats. The bartender had no warmth or personality.
There is space to change it and it would help the ambiance.
