Duke's Beach House Maui
Great ambiance. Sat and enjoyed the food, view and whales.
Dukes was wonderful. Excellent food with nice live music. Service was great. You won’t be disappointed.
Took my spouse to celebrate her Birthday. It was absolutely perfect! Beautiful ambience, very friendly bartender, live music, tiki torches. The food was amazing plus the manager came over to wish my wife a happy birthday and offer her their famous Hula Pie as a gift. It was a perfect Birthday Dinner.
The service was very good. I wanted a different sauce for my appetizer and it was happily provided. The ribs were outstanding and my wife’s seafood risotto was delicious . Definitely try the hula pie for dessert!
We love Dukes and go every year we come to Maui. The food is outstanding as well as the service and ambience. Dukes NEVER disappoints
Awesome! Beautiful scenery!
We have been coming to Dukes every year since it opened on Ka’anapali Beach. This time was disappointing. Ordered poke tacos, delicious. Furikaki ahi steak, delicious. Farm to fork platter, blah. For $27 you get a couple of beets (red and gold) sweet potato lau lau with coconut cream (very good) and instead of the Brussels sprouts and squash on the menu you get steamed broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. Very bland. When I asked why the dish had changed the server said “it was changed recently, did it have Brussels sprouts the last time you ordered it?” No, this is the first time ordering it, I was simply reading the menu. No offer to exchange or substitute.
We had our honeymoon lunch here and absolutely loved it!! I can’t recommend the hula pie more!! Best desert I’ve had in Hawaii !
Very pleasant for a nice dinner out. Great mai tais and good options if you want a change from fish.
Perfect Hawaiian dining experience! Polynesian flair and flavour with great dishes and atmosphere right at the beach. First class service from David and his team that handled our large group of a 11 with ease.
We made reservations which was great. Our server Brian did a very good job and was informative when asked a question.
I was told by others in our party that the fish and ribs were good. My husband and I shared the flat iron steak. He thought it was great. I thought it was either aged too long for my taste or it was the vinegar from the dressing it sat on
Loved the setting and service, and the food was just as good. Music was totally Hawaiian
Excellent meal, drinks and service with wonderful view.
We love coming here every year! We will be back , probably again this week. The fish is really good here and the ambiance even better! It’s nice that it’s close to our hotel also.
It was very good food. The ambiance was good. We both thought the waiter could have been a little Orr engaging
Celebrating 50th bday
Sapir waiter was particularly good. He was friendly; attentive;knew his menu and winesAND could carry on. Decent conversation. You are fortunate to have him.
Food was good, but took a long time to get it—a couple seated after us received their food about 15 minutes before we did. My daughter ordered a side of bacon with her breakfast that came by itself 20 minutes before the rest of the meal. The server was pleasant, but not thorough—made three trips back to the table to get the order right.
Excellent meal at realistic prices for Maui.
Great food, service and views!
Amazing view and wonderful food. Great, friendly service. A must place to enjoy.
It just wasn’t that great. Dukes offers a great ambiance and a menu with lots of appealing sounding options. But now after dining there 3 times, honestly, it usually underwhelms. This rime was the worst of our visits. Our food was just not very flavorful or good. And certainly not worth the price points. We had a lovely, friendly waiter. Yet service was very, very slow. Our appetizers did arrive promptly (and they were generally tasty — much better than our entrees) but the entrees were EXTREMELY slow to arrive. And our waiter never once acknowledged this. That made the long wait even more annoying. He definitely should have acknowledged the long wait. By the time our food arrived the place had really cleaned out — less than half the tables were full. And no “sorry for the long wait” acknowledgement or apologies once it arrived either. We had 4 different entrees and all were pretty bland. The grilled fish had a really odd flavored sauce and the rice was flavorless. Then the real low point arrived. We saw three or four giant cockroaches scurrying across the floor, underneath our table and then they ran literally under my feet. SO GROSS! Yes, this is semi-outdoor dining on a raised floor ... but still! I very nicely told our waiter (hey, it wasn’t his fault) and he barely acknowledged it. He said, yeah that’s not fun when you’re eating but we are an open air environment. He really didn’t apologize for either that or our long entree wait, and that’s just not the mark of great service or a well run restaurant. We got our check shortly after, tipped only 15% given all the issues and left. I would not recommend it and we won’t return next year when we visit Maui. Too bad since it’s so pretty there.
Food was extremely poor quality especially for the price. Ambience is excellent so it is unfortunate they can't get a good meal to the table. Too many great alternatives in maui to do this again .
The views were awesome with front row seats at a magnificent sunset. The service was excellent and everyone was willing to share island tips and their experiences. We enjoyed Delicious local fish served creatively. We will definitely return.
Great view, especially at sunset. Very good food. Many entrees are big enough to share.
We had Matthew as our server and his presentation and overall service was a 10.
The food was good but the service was quite lacklustre. It would be better if the staff tried a little harder to make the dining experience more personal and enjoyable. Our server seemed to be on remote control, saying the same thing to everyone with no personal touch. Food is expensive so I would expect that the table would be cleaner (and not sticky) and that the chair with the ripped upholstery would be removed from service to be repaired. Sort of feel like I dined in an upscale cafeteria.
We had a lovely dinner
The filet was amazing! Seasoned to perfection. Dukes is always a great place to eat.
Bad value for money. Food was not prepared well. Drinks were pretty awful frankly.
absolutely excellent!!!! beyond expectations. We would recommend highly!
Service was friendly and fast and food is amazing! We enjoyed the booth seating as it is a bit more private..
Food has gone down hill, slow service
We had a lovely quiet table at the back of the dining with a nice view of the ocean. However, the chicken was forgotten on one of the chicken salads. The salad wasn't fixed until we brought the issue to the attention of the staff. They don't have self parking, you have to valet.
Lunch and drinks with the view is amazing
the dinners have dropped of alot in the last few years. Very cookie cutter and fishy taste at times in what was the signature dish
To me, ambiance is 50% of the dining experience. So with that in mind, Duke's is right off the Ka'anapali Beach and has open air seating on the inside of the restaurant and outside seating with thatched roofs over each table. The fire from the lit torches are all around and it really feels like an older Hawaiian era. The service was good so no complaints there. The food was good but the 2 fish dishes were overcooked. I was pretty surprised since we have come here many times before and the food was always well prepared. On my plate, there was also green coconut rice that was pretty dry and a bok choi side dish was was WAY over salted. My son had the Opakapaka and it too was a little dry and chewy-- overcooked! If I was rating this restaurant on these two dishes, I would have given it a much lower score, however, the 2 filet mignon dishes that my over guests had were killer!! Perfectly cooked and seasoned! I am chalking this dinner up to a bad day for the chef. Since we come to Maui about 3-4 times a year and have to walk just 5 minutes to get to the restaurant, Duke's is usually our "go to" restaurant. I will come back again to see if they redeem themselves. Come on, guys!! How can you be located right on the beach, surrounded by the bountiful waters of Maui and make overcooked fish dishes?? By the way, my son had Opakapaka at Mama's Fish House in Pa'ia and it was EXCELLENT. Time to step up your game, guys?? or else become a steak house.
The perfect Maui eating experience.
Me and my family had a awesome time at Duke’s Beach House Maui. My son has anaphylaxis and the waiter took it very seriously. They made up a meal that was not on the menu just for my son. Next time I visit Maui I am sure to go back to Duke’s Beach House Maui.
This is in a super convenient location for us when we visit Maui. We have been big fans for years and normally would dine there multiple times. Alas our experience this time was disappointing. Primarily because of the service. We also felt rushed through the meal.
Great service and excellent view and can't forget about dessert hula pie yum yum yum!!!
