Mega way to do breakfast. If you plan on spending the day in the water load up on the Loco Moco! POG was perfect and the boozy coffee was a nice start as well. Açaí bowl was smooth as silk.

We booked the reservation well in advance because we make sure to come to Dukes every time we visit Hawaii. Usually we walk away with a positive experience. Last night was very disappointing. We had a special event to celebrate and had noted it in the reservation when it was booked. It was our daughter’s 30th birthday. They did acknowledge her birthday upon check in with the host, but it did not seem to get passed on to any of the wait staff. Our waiter was ok not very enthusiastic or welcoming, seemed like he was just there to do his job and leave, which is unlike the other amazing experiences we have had at Duke’s preciously. However, the real problem was with the food runners which prompted me to write this review to hopefully have the restaurant address the issue. They came to drop off our food and threw a napkin across the table and then slammed the plate down on the glass top table. He proceeded to drop each plate very aggressively and then turned and walked away. We were all quite startled at his aggressive behavior. We finished our dinner and then the waiter came back over and asked if we would like dessert? We then voiced it was indeed are daughters birthday and asked for a piece of Hula pie. He brought it out without a candle. We then asked if he had a candle and he seemed very put out, but did get us a candle. Overall it was a very disappointing and underwhelming experience that will make us think twice before we ever return to Duke’s.

Dukes is the best. Great atmosphere. Right on the water. Tiki torches. Good music. Prices are at least $10 a plate cheaper here and just as good if not better. I’ve never had a bad experience at Duke’s.

We had a great breakfast and happen to have the same waiter , Carlos as we did years ago and he was just as great and friendly ! View was nice and service was faster than i remember!
