Need to book at 10:45 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Very enjoyable. Great service and exceptional food
We got the chefs tasting menu, which was a great deal. $60 for 10 selections plus desert
Busy and bustling restaurant, definitely recommend planning way ahead of time to get a reservation.
Food and drink was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend doing the chef's tasting just to try a lot of the dishes on the menu. Certain premium items like the a5 kobe beef costs extra but it is well worth it. Unfortunately I can't attach more photos of the food but the presentation was great and the flavor was there. I only had one cocktail and it was their take on a whiskey sour. The use of egg whites made it that much better.
The ambiance and decor is very similar to other Schulson Collective establishments such as Sampan and Graffiti Bar.
Overall I had a positive experience and I'll definitely be back to try a different combination of the chef's tasting!
Great Food. Great Portions. Wonderful and informative wait staff.
I highly recommend this dining expericene
We always have dinner at double knot when we are in town.
We had a little wait to be seated, but they more than made up for it. Great food and service. Can't wait to return!
From the start, my experience was fantastic. I planned a reservation for Valentine's Day Weekend, with my girlfriend. At first glance, the restaurant has two very separate, yet self sufficient sections; the bar and the dining area (which is located underground). Almost immediately after being seated, our waiter greeted us and served us drinks. We got the Chef's Tasting Menu, so I could not speak to the value of the entrees, but considering it is a Tapas themed restaurant, it seems like the obvious choice for first-time goers. Our service was extremely personalized. Our waiter would slow down or speed up the courses as needed to always keep us with new and delicious food on the table. Additionally, with each course, the food runner would give us a complete description of the anatomy of the dish. (Which was super helpful, since a lot of the ingredients on the menu are elevated and sometimes hard to picture from the minimal description). Every dish of every course was absolutely stellar! The chef's (whoever they were) are absolutely masters at their craft, with each dish tasting fresher and more savory than the last. Unique flares were added to even the more straightforward dishes, to keep even the ceviche at the same speed as the Venison Robotayaki. After my girlfriend and I finished our final courses, our waiter (who must have been spying on us, to be as punctual as he was lol) delivered a final plate of mochi ice cream and the check.
My only complaint would be the atmosphere. Double Knot is very thoughtful about the placement of each and every table, to maximize head count. However, due to their unique service style, tables need to be short or cornered, to make isles for staff to quickly glide through. As a result, tables seem sort of cramped. Also, due to the high volume, there's a substantial amount of noise pollution, limiting table talk.
However, the atmosphere hardly put a dapper on our dining experience!
Hope this helps!
Everything was amazing!!! Top 3 dining experiences I’ve EVER had! Shoutout to our waiter Tyler who made the experience extra special for us — every recommendation was top notch!
Had to reserve a high top table. The table was not high top and we had to sit on the same side of the table. Other than that food was amazing and service was great.
Came here for the first time on Valentine’s Day, food was amazing service was outstanding. Me and the girlfriend enjoyed every facet of this place. Highly recommend.
A+. The basement dinning room is amazing and the food is excelllent.
The food/service/ambience were all incredible. Cant wait to go back and try everything else. The grilled meats are all fantastic
Amazing service! And the food ah I can't wait to go back
The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and personable. The food was just OK. We had 10 small dishes and only really enjoyed 3. The lamb skewers, spicy tuna roll, and eel avacado roll were delicious, however everything else was disappointing. The edamame fritters were not good at all and could have used a sauce.
Noisy and crowded but the food is soo good and can’t beat the happy hour prices.
Great cocktails. Really like the small plate servings since it gives lots of variety of food. Had eight different servings and dessert and all were fabulous. Will return.
Tasting menu was phenomenal! We’ll definitely be going back for more!
Such a cool environment! Love the ambiance and the food is amazing - like Asian-inspired tapas!
Was my 2nd time and my friends first time. Everyone had a great time
Food was amazing. Did the Chef’s selection tasting menu (10 selections). Loved everyone except one and they took the one back and substituted something else for it. Service was outstanding too. Can’t wait to go back.
Fantastic from start to finish. Wonderful, attentive service. We did the chef’s tasting tasting which was superb.
First time here after hearing about this place from friends. The menu is a little overwhelming and out server was helpful with walking my wife and I through it. We ended up ordering the chef's set price omakase. Not much raw fish but we were not disappointed with the selection. The food was very good and we did not leave hungry. We will be back. By the way, go to the rear of the place when you walk in to check in with the hostess for dinner.
Second time here and the overall experience did not disappoint again. The manager DD was great and super accommodating to our requests. Will continue to recommend to everyone
Absolutely perfect. The food was incredible, service was exceptional, fantastic!!!
This is a fun other option in Philly! Quite quite good!
Got the chef's tasting menu..every plate was delicious
Terrible service. They ask you to leave as soon as you are done eating, after spending a large sum of money on overpriced food. They should reserve fewer tables and focus on making their guests happy. They lost 4 customers that night.
Visited this past Saturday to celebrate a birthday and couldn’t have picked a better spot. Arrived early and enjoyed a drink upstairs before going downstairs for dinner. Opted for the chef tasting menu and was extremely happy with the decision. Terrific value for the quality and quantity your receiving. Our servers were helpful and attentive, and all our selections were plated and explained perfectly. Robatayaki scallop and the ribeye with scallion were fantastic. Every course was so good it’s almost hard to pick a stand out among them. Will be returning anytime I’m in Philadelphia without a doubt.
Amazing food. Fast and attentive service. Incredible atmosphere
Would be 5 stars except when asked upstairs if happy hour deals were still available when seated for dinner downstairs, and told yes, finding out it was not was quite disappointing
Dana was amazing best suggestions and service ever! Will be back just because of how amazing she was!
We went there for my girlfriends birthday and got the tasting menu. There was a ton of options and our waitress helped us pick out some stuff. Everything that came out was delicious and I highly recommend it. It was a little pricey coming out to over $200 after drinks and tip but it was worth it.
Loved this place! Drinks food and atmosphere was on point.
I recommend the chef's choice, but on the other hand it's very expensive. If you can swing it, I think it's worth it.
3rd time there and loved it each time
We were WAY too rushed during this dinner. Too quick with all the extremely SMALL plates, which kept appearing all at once. Hardly had time to sip our cocktail. Poof all food was there, then eaten, then dinner paid for (very expensive for what you get) and we left. Would not go back. Would not recommend. Atmosphere nice - too nice to be rushed. Food was tasty - too tasty to not savor. They should slow down on the delivery of these morsels.
We are big foodies and we think this is the best restaurant in Philly right now!
Quite honestly the best meal I’ve ever had! My girlfriend and I went in for the Chef’s Tasting Menu (10 courses for $60) and let the chef(s) decide all of the options for us. As each course came out, everything just kept getting more delicious.
We had salmon sashimi, a shrimp tempura roll wrapped in soy paper and topped with raw tuna and pea purée, grilled scallops (buttery, salty, perfect), grilled short rib (paired great with their house made mustard), tuna tartar on a bed of grilled sticky rice - we were already full by this point - tempura cheese curd with yum yum sauce, Duck scrapple on an everything bao bun, chicken soba noodles (phenomenal!), grilled Chilean sea bass (perfect!), grilled hanger steak. Needless to say we had the last few plates packed up to take home. Everything was so dang good and had such bold flavor. Amazing!
I enjoyed the Sailors Bend cocktail as it was a nice surprise to see cacaçha on a menu. I also later enjoyed the Double Knot, literally the perfect smoked Manhattan. The presentation was a sight to behold and the smoked spices were perfectly paired with the liquors. My girlfriend had a ginger and matcha cocktail that was a little heavy on the ginger but she enjoyed it.
The night was finished out with some excellent mochi- passionfruit and red bean - that came with a sparkler in it since we were celebrating my birthday. It was a fun surprise.
We were admittedly underdressed but loved the atmosphere, the decor, and the lighting. Our server Dana was so helpful and very sweet. She was also very on top of keeping our water filled which is always appreciated since we drink a lot of water. Thank you for an excellent evening Dana! All of the wait staff was wonderful, especially as each plate was presented to us with full details on what we were about to enjoy.
I would absolutely recommend Double Knot for date night, special occasions, and for anyone with adventurous tastebuds. Absolutely will be returning.
