I took five customers to Doe's for dinner after a demanding full day business meeting. They were hungry and very thirsty. We were very warmly greeted entering the restaurant, and quickly seated. Menus were presented shortly after our seating and the first of many adult beverage orders taken. The drinks were cold, full, and very tasty, each and every time!!! Our appetizer orders were served in quick order and were extremely delicious. As for the steaks, everyone, including myself raved at the taste, tenderness, and cooking temperature we each ordered. The sides were just as good as the steaks, and we all were very happy after our eating. experience. I will be bringing another customer group to Baton Rouge in the next few months and we will DEFINATELY be heading back to Doe's. Can't rave about this place enough. Absolutely perfect service, food, and drinks. Go here, you won't regret it!!!!

Doe's Eat Place was underwhelming. We started with the tamales, which were fine (I've seen people rave about these, but I don't understand the hype. In fact, I would say they are pretty bland...). Then my husband and I shared the porterhouse. We ordered medium-rare, and it came out rare. The steak was borderline too salty for me. The boiled potatoes that accompanied the steak as a side were average, as were the drop biscuits. Our server was efficient and friendly enough. Maybe it was just an off day for them, but I will not be returning anytime soon.

Have dined here numerous times and am always satisfied with the steaks. Steaks were cooked to perfection, 2 ribeyes and 2 filets. Old fashions were excellent. However I do not recommend the child’s catfish as the flavor of the fish was not good, very fishy taste. Everything else was perfect.

My Wife, myself and another couple went to Doe's to enjoy a great meal. We always ask for Mary to be our server and she was last night. The drinks were excellent. I had my usual Martini, which Mary has waiting for me when we arrive, and it was very cold and prepared just as I like it. The Salad was great with a side of blue cheese dressing. Both couples ordered the 2 1/2 lb. Porterhouse T-Bone steaks and they were cooked exactly as we ordered them. The side of of boiled potatoes or French fries were delicious. I especially like the fries soaked in the juices of the steak. We followed up all that with a nice dessert which was also very good. I highly recommend Doe's for steak lovers but they also have a variety of other entrees.

Nothing but great here. Tamales were Fantastic. The steaks were amazing and perfectly seasoned and cooked. We were seated in the bar area which was great because the bartender served and waited on our table and he gave us food and drink recommendations.

I've been to Doe's numerous times and the food has always been excellent in the past. Don't know who cooked our meal, but the fries were greasy and undercooked and our porterhouse was overcooked. To be fair, my other guests enjoyed their steaks, which were cooked per their order. Please watch the cook and the food that is served so we can come back and enjoy.

First, let me say we live 30 miles from B.R. and the food at Doe's is worth the drive. Mary our server was wonderful and attentive. She has been our requested server for years now and does not even ask me what I want to drink, she just brings the Martini to the table. The food is always excellent. Last night was the last night of B.R. Restaurant week and Doe's offered, among several items a large Rib Eye which I had. I like my steaks very rare and it was cooked to perfection. The Steak was juicy and very tasty. They offered a cream of mushroom soup as a starter and it was fantastic also. The Strawberry short cake dessert was also excellent. Over all the experience and food was wonderful. We will be back in a couple of weeks.

Food was amazing, service was excellent. For some reason they sat me and my wife in the bar area even though we had a reservation and there was plenty of open tables. We were seated right next to a large, very loud party which made it hard for us to actually have a normal conversation without continuously repeating ourselves. It won't deter me from going back but I will be sure to ask not to sit in the bar area.

We were seated right away at a very good table. Our waiter was attentive and professional but was a bit sloppy in appearance and rather nonchalant. The food was served expediently and was well prepared. The steak I ordered was cooked to the perfect temperature but lacked seasoning. It was also a bit gristly and was overpriced. The drinks were well prepared and served quickly. Overall, I like Doe’s and I will return.

Dinner at Doe’s has always been a positive experience. Enjoying a good steak without the environment of a high priced steakhouse. My wife and I previously always purchased a porterhouse and shared it. We changed to a twelve ounce filet the last two trips and left disappointed in the steak. Rather tough for a filet and the flavor of the meat was lacking.

The Old Fashioned was one of the best I’ve had. The fried asparagus was really good. I loved the house dressing. The ribeye had an amazing flavor and was cooked to a perfect medium rare, but there was more gristle and fat than I’ve had in the many ribeyes I’ve eaten. The service was very friendly, but rushed. However, we made a very last minute reservation on a Saturday night so I was just happy to be able to get in. The bar, which I didn’t go to, looked like a lot of fun with great atmosphere

Outstanding dinner! Had one cocktail, and it was a generous serving (unlike other restaurants that serve mostly ice). Ribeye was cooked perfectly.

We had a dozen tamales, then a porterhouse steak for one of us and hamburger steak for the rest. The tamales are unique to Doe's and were really delicious, the porterhouse steak was at least as good as anywhere else (as was the case the last time I ate here), and the hamburger steak was maybe the best ever. I also had a martini which was good. This is a a relaxed, unpretentious place with great food and friendly, responsive service.

We had a fabulous time. The steaks were done to perfection. Red potatoes had a string anise smell that we didn’t like, but everything else was fabulous. The Mac and cheese was surprisingly delicious with a great kick to it. This was our second time to Does Eats and it did not disappoint.

We were excited to eat here after seeing a show about their Greenville MS location. The place was pretty empty even for a Monday night. Service was strong, but most of the food was average at best and the prices were high for what we received in quality of product. Fried shrimp were spot on, tuna app was a miss as it was tough and too thickly cut. They were out of a number of cuts of steaks. My wife had the filet and it was tender with good flavor. Since they did not have the 1lb or 2 lb porterhouse we decided to go big with the 2 1/4lb porterhouse for my nephew and I to split. Steak was cooked well but definitely tougher that I would have expected for an aged $100+ price. Drinks were good and the wine list was also adequate.

Doe’s typically delivers exactly what your expectations are, no frills and a good steak. We got the no frills, but the steak was not up to expectations. My wife and I chose a 12oz filet and typically it is so tender you hardly need a knife. This time it was tough, gristly, and not much flavor. We didn’t complain because as I mentioned earlier, Doe’s typically delivers, but for a $70 steak I will complain the next time.
