I’m only giving 5/5 stars because I can’t give 10/5. Our first visit to Essence, but definitely not the last! What a great experience, from the time we walked in the door, until Brad followed us out the front door to tell us goodbye. Melissa provided exceptional service from start to finish, as well! Brad personally visited our table a couple times throughout dinner to ensure everything was impeccable. The atmosphere, the service/hospitality, and the food are all worth a visit, in themselves.

I have been here twice and the ambiance is amazing! It’s a gem for South Bend! The food is delicious and there are many choices on the menu. The Brussels Sprouts with curry aioli are a yummy twist on roasted Brussels Sprouts. Possibly the best restaurant in South Bend.

Our cocktail program has been nominated for a Tales of the Cocktail award for best bar/restaurant cocktail menu. We have one of the largest selections of whiskey, bourbon, rye, and scotch in Indiana. Went to dinner on a Monday, no special occasion. Ricardo was a good, attentive waiter. My wife had the poke bowl, which we both got last time we were there. She said it wasn't as good as before. I had the wings which were good but a little dry. They were out of Sol beer so Ricardo recommended a Guatemalan beer, which was a good suggestion. I also had an Old Fashioned which was good. The ambiance is cool and the wait staff are good and professional. The food is a expensive, but overall the experience has always been good. We'll go back again.

The food and wine is always outstanding. The views are incredible and the wait staff was great. We had shrimp cocktail, wedge salad (outstanding); and the salmon and Ahi Tuna. Both were very well prepared. I love their wine selections; from the glass to the bottle.

We brought our daughter to The Dining Room for her birthday. The place is amazing as was the food. 2 of us had the salmon which I would highly recommend and our daughter had the filet mignon which she said was also delicious and well prepared. The servers were very nice but service was definitely slow. Not what I expected so somewhat disappointing. Otherwise a very nice dining experience.
