The departure experience was a delight. The drinks paired beautifully, and the view was lovely. A bit chilly, but the heaters fixed that. Portion sizes were well done.
Was here for a birthday party. Bartender was amazing, server was great and we had lots of laughs!
The chicken was dry, I wouldn’t get it again.
All done well
It was a great experience! My mom love the place..
Austin was our waiter and he really made our evening. The meal was five star!
We had a lovely time and the food was very flavorful. Host and server were welcoming and our table was ready on time. Gorgeous views of Portland.
Departure is hands down our favorite place to dine in Portland. Always great flavors and great food
First time here and is was Awesome! Great hospitality, food and drinks!
The bartender and waiter were amazing! The manager took us to the rooftop even though it was closed do to wind! Super friendly and the food was amazing!
This was our second visit to Departure. It was fantastic! The food was creative and delicious - service was great.
I was very disappointed with the service; I could get a table outside for dinner with my girlfriend, it was her first time dining here, but I've been a long-time patron. We barely sat down, and the waitress told us we can only stay for an hour, so of course, the clock in my head is telling me not to order too much food because we only have an hour to eat. I don't like to be rushed through my dinner when I'm dining out at a restaurant. The new menu Departure Arrival was for that particular time. I ordered a non-alcoholic beverage, their Baby Spinach, Kale salad with tamari tomato, coconut bacon, ginger, and smoked jalapeño. I didn't remember seeing any kale in the salad. We both ordered the Salmon and Tuna Poke rolls with cucumber, shaved nori, ssamjang mayo. I didn't think the Salmon and Tuna Poke roll tasted fresh enough because the rice was hard.
Prices were high for what we ordered, but it wasn't the price that bothered me; it was the fact that the waitress told me I could only stay an hour at that table outside. I understand that they need to turn over their table to make their sales volume, but I feel it was tacky on their part.
I think my day patronizing Departure restaurant is over.
The table we were sat at definitely isn’t appropriate for dining. It was basically a coffee table between two lounge chairs. I was hunched over sideways trying to eat oysters and sashimi in the most awkward way. Kind of weird to seat someone for a dinner reservation at a table like that considering the price point of the restaurant.
Great food. I’m always impressed when servers know the food and present it so I know what I’m eating.
It was great!
Wonderful! Departure experience was delusions! And had a best cheesecake with elderberry jam!
Very nice, we enjoyed the atmosphere. Wish we were able to sit outside though. But the food was very good
Had 18 yo birthday dinner. Service was excellent. Bartender had great suggestions and friendly. Wygu upgrade was horribly fatty and tough. The Imbirico pork was great. Food was 6/10 for us. 6 people 720.00 with tip was about par for five dining in Pdx.
Excellent food - very delicious
-not worth the money you pay
Find a better place.
Always a fantastic experience.
We enjoyed the experience tasting among 3 people. Excellent quality, quantity, and diversity of food. Sharing was easy, as was hoarding of our favorites to savor the depth of flavors.
For a $200 dinner, I wish I could’ve received a bowl of ice cream or some sort of dessert for the birthday guest.
If sunny recognize there is direct sun on the patio til about 6/7 pm. Other than that it was great!
The ambiance was quite nice. It felt Like something special. The service was fantastic and very attentive.
The food was meh, especially for the money. Some of the items in the $55 menu were pretty good but nothing was fabulous. I would recommend the Arrival menu, and skip the Departurw experience.
Overall it was a nice evening.
Limited selection. Background music to loud. Taste of food was average and nothing special for the price.
Excellent, unique menu! Great service and gluten free friendly.
Chefs feed brought me in and the pics. It’s a dive lounge. Food doesn’t look like pics or taste like it looks. Any small Asian place makes better food. Guess you pay for view and thinking it’s fine dining. Needs a face lift Better food and a dress code to keep the riff raff out. View and the entrance was the best part about it And service was great.
Made reservations days in advance asked for a window table, did not happen.
Host was very rude and more interested in talking to her coworker than helping anyone.
Server forgot about us a few times. We were here for over 2 hours.
Most of the food was good, but portions were too small. You should get more than three scallops for $300.
I can see why they call it departure, because I can’t see us returning :(
I really enjoyed it with my aunt! My server was great and we loved the starters.
Amazing food, great drinks and great service. Also, the ambience was futuristic and fun
New menu is not so good, service was poor. It is not longer a fine dinning experience. I had my daughter's 17th birthday dinner here and it was a disappointment. No worth the money. Food was blend and bad. Plate presentation was poor.
Great food and service--as usual
Very slow service. Sat for 20 minutes before being greeted by the bartender. Server was never present, except to drop the check.
One my favorite restaurants in Portland. Their 3-course menu is appropriately called the Departure Experience! To elevate the meal, this top floor restaurant gives a great view of downtown Portland.
Great, the service was exceptional
Some of the best food we’ve ever had. The experience was awesome, will do it again some time
Everything was perfect, we got 3 Experience Dinners and shared between some folks. My only complaint were the beverage pairings, it said when I was booking you could add them for $35. Well, they didn't seem too keen on having this ready as part of the experience and charged us for 3 high end cocktails at $15ea ($45 total). I asked for the $35 cost and they said that was just the "starting" amount and sorry but no... in the same breath they said they are still "working things out" around this menu. Sooo🧐🧐
It was wonderful having Departure open again. But after spending $125 I was told that it was time for the next people to be seated,
and that it was time to pay our check.
I think the next time I make a reservation it will be when the restaurant has opened up both decks and has more seating and not a limited time to enjoy the atmosphere the drinks and the food.
Food was exceptional, my only disappointment was you can’t get the prefix meal until after 6 PM. I wish we’d known that when we made the reservations.
Extremely loud, tasty food and the service was not the best. We asked for a window seat for our anniversary dinner and they sat us right next to a ugly roof with no view at all...
