The Dartmouth Arms was empty except for a few men watching a football match and it the kitchen seemed really unprepared. My 'salt-marsh lamb skewers' consisted of a mountain of new potatoes topped by 2 skewers with 3 TINY dry and rather burnt cubes of lamb each - the size of an average starter. The cheese platter comprised 5 chunks of cheddar and 2 slices of under-ripe pasteurised 'brie'. I asked the waitress to take it away. If a restaurant charges £7 for a cheese platter, they should be offering a range of speciality cheeses sourced from producers, not this! I expect I was unlucky however, as my husband pronounced his steak 'very good' and his sticky toffee pudding was fine too. Decor was pleasant.
