Always a pleasure to visit Clonakilla. I thought it was interesting that our sommelier explicitly chose not to give us tasting notes for each wine. I understand not being prescriptivist, but I’m also always looking to learn more about wines and how they’re made, so I’m not sure this novel approach was what I had in mind. Still, the somm was happy to let us guess tasting notes and then fill what we might have missed, which made for a fun challenge. The wines were of course delicious, including some varieties which I hadn’t tried before - notably, the GSM, Bordeaux blend and Pinot Noir. The tastings are very generous - we were able to try virtually all the wines on offer, and the price was written off with the purchase of a bottle. I walked away with a bottle of O’Riada Shiraz, which is a consistent favourite of mine, and excellent value at $45 a bottle. It’s very exciting that Clonakilla are growing their own Cabernet Franc for use in their Bordeaux blend, and I hope one day that they consider dabbling in a single grape Cabernet Franc - we should be so lucky.

I was so excited to dine at a coeliac friendly restaurant and Queenie’s in Kingston didn’t disappoint. The staff were lovely, the atmosphere was nice and the food was great. We will definitely be back soon.

Such a cosy, warm and friendly place to meet up with friends for a meal. Lovely food and wines. Excellent service and attention to detail on our experience. Interactions with staff were awesome; they cared and saw to a memorable night.

A beautiful relaxed restaurant to dine in. Food exceptional. I highly recommend this place.
