QUICK REVIEW: Nice view, Great service, Cuisine better than expected. Solid 4.7 Stars. Recommend. Yes, we will be back. LONGER REVIEW: We travel extensively, and have been to Grand Hyatt before, but first time to Makoto. Based on reviews, decided to give it a try. SERVICE: Seated promptly at reservation time at a booth by request, with a nice view of Vail Mountain and the nearby stream. Hiro - our main server - was Awesome. She was there when you needed her, with a great attitude and advice. Nice job! FOOD and COCKTAILS. Nice sake list, but the wines by the glass were a bit sparse. Cocktails were inventive by their description, but we settled on a Mango Cosmo, and a Cab. Crab roll and shrimp appetizer to table share. Sea Bass and Wagyu Filet for entrees. All perfectly cooked, and very little to take home. All Very Tasty. A surprise birthday ice cream at the end was a nice touch. OVERALL: Makoto was a pleasant surprise. They were busy with a large group in an adjoining room, but still the service was great. YES, we would go back. If you are in the Vail area, worth the little bus trip to the west side.
